    1. Create a facebook page
    2. Add some posts to that page of things that will be interesting
    3. Start a small Facebook ads campaign (there was a product on the WSO on how to get $0.01 clicks)
    4. Keep giving value and stir discussions
    5. Direct them to helpful posts on your site (and from there they will be monetized)
    6. or/and From time to time suggest new products or hint that you are offering services
    7. or/and Create a facebook app

Posting interesting and/or helpful content (even better... photos) works best for long term customer loyalty. Good example of a non-flashy successful content based FB business page... https://www.facebook.com/UncommonCaribbean. Facebook ad campaign or JV with someone who has already captured your audience on an information giveaway is an easy way to get folks to sign-up initially.

I guess you don't want to advertise on Facebook right?

    Therefore you could:

Make a Page targeted to your market.

Install one or multiple reveal tab apps on the page and then get them to Like your page by offering a good incentive for doing so. Fans will then access their gift. You can then offer further products, to your Fans.

Another option is to direct them to an email capture form (not on Facebook) and build a list of prospects.

    Cheers

First, one must be clear who are your customers, their likes and dislikes, demographics data and where they come from.

It is back to the basic and then you can create a group or fanpage to attract them to one place.

Then what do you want them to do when they come to your FB.

You may not get a customer , as in FB, there are not in the mood of buying something.

They are there to interact, post, reply with their friends.

You will get a lead or referral.

Then you can convert the lead into customers

If your product can be sold via Facebook then make sure the links are on there to do so, and I don't mean links back to your website. Use Payvment or other Facebook shopping solutions.
This is my own Facebook shop as an example:
Big Blue Squid - Business Services - Dromore, United Kingdom - Shop Now | Facebook

If you're going to offer special offers or product highlights as your updates then you can embed the links in your updates.

Some Facebook pages exist solely for this purpose and get quite good numbers but they have a strong brand name to begin with.
Belfast International Airport in the UK is one of my clients who do just that. Apart from bad weather the airport doesn't produce much news but their arilines offer discounts through the airport which they pass on through Facebook and Twitter: Belfast International Airport - Airport - Belfast, United Kingdom | Facebook

If your products are on your website then you need a strategy to drive people off your Facebook site such as a posts with deep links to the individual products. You can only link to these occasionally (about twice a week maximum) to avoid people turning away from your page. Don't over populate your website with Facebook links either - why drive people AWAY from your products?

To keep people on the Facebook page in between adverts you'll need good content and interactive posts that drive engagement and encourage them to share your brand. This is where new customers start to come from. Give them material they want to share and you'll reach new audiences. Give them exclusive Facebook offers they can pass on and you'll make new friends who will want to buy from you, and better yet, sell on your behalf.

Look out for 'brand evangelists' too. These are the people on your page who engage with everything you say and sell. Give them material first, special offers and talk to them directly. They will talk about your products on your behalf which is sales gold dust
