Best Option For Adding New Domains To (Reseller) Hosting

Hey everyone, I have a question for you lovely people:

I have a hostgator reseller hosting account and am starting to lease/sell domains.

To add a new domain to my hosting I can do 1 of 2 things:

1) Add it in my primary domain's cpanel as an add-on domain.
2) Create a new hosting package in my WHM (web host manager) and add it there.

Seeing as how most of the domains I add may be sold, I assume that the process will be easier if I have them hosted via option 2, in hosting in a separate hosting package. Can anyone tell me if that is correct or whether it matters?

If your intention is to sell a domain/site, then creating its own hosting account is by far the best way to go.

If your intention is to lease, either option would be fine.

Thanks Gene, I appreciate the response, especially from you!

Just to confirm, by new account you mean new package, correct?
