Hi all,

being tech savvy I am working on a robot/database that does "a bit more" than gathering/analysing texts from sites. (aka Big Bro' G.)

I am gathering info on all kinds of metadata of sites. (colors, textures, fonts, etc.) How interesting would that be for you in your marketing efforts? (read as, spy on competition)
The robot can do about 5K to 10K sites a day so the database will grow day-by-day.

    Make it target pages with a paypal code and you can have it pull salespages of your competition just an idea

    would also be cool to collect other data such as # of pages indexed, pagerank, etc... that would be very interesting. It could also be neat to incorporate alexa/quantcast information, sites linking in.. all that good stuff

    Not sure what anyone would do with color, fonts, texture? data. I use seo spyglass and get a lot of backlink and ranking info on competitors, which is very useful info to have.

      Yeah, I kinda agree. By the time you get to that point, you should already be getting great traffic, which means you're already better than your competition. This is what you split-test on your site itself.

      Seeing what the top-notch sites in your niche are doing would be cool for ideas, but I think that would be about it...
