I am based in India and just set up a business that's picking up well. I get a lot of inquiries from my prospects based in the US, UK and Australia. 90% of them leave their phone numbers in the inquiry form and 20-30% of them request me to call them back.

Calling an international number from my mobile phone is not going to be the best option. I am looking at several options but not quite clear about what's what

Here is what I need -

I need an online number (May be 1 US, 1 UK and 1 Australian number). I will display all these numbers on my website so that my prospects can call me directly. And when they call my online number, I want to be able to pick up the call from my mobile (Set up call forwarding?). On the other hand, if they leave their numbers in the inquiry form, I want to be able to call them back from my online number.

Based on some initial research, I found skype, local phone and Kall8 to be the most recommended services. However, reading through their pricing page and "How it works" page several times, I am still not clear about how much I will be paying and whether all the above requirements above can be met by these services.

I really appreciate any help here. Please feel free to add any other service that you feel would be a solution to my problem. Thanks in advance!

I use skype online numbers in my business. You can forward them from skype to a mobile or land line if you like. It's pretty easy.

Great! and what about the charges? I know it varies by country but the Skype pricing page is too complicated.

      1. How much will I be paying when a US prospect calls my US online number which I will be answering from my Indian mobile.

      2. How much will I be paying if I call a US mobile/land-line number from my Skype online number?

      Thanks!

You have the option of voicemail with your Skype online number. Listening to your voicemail via Skype is free. You'll even receive an email and a message in your Skype account that you have a voicemail waiting for you. So the only thing to consider is which service to use to return the call.

The answer to your second question should be fairly straight forward from the Skype pricing plan for Skype Out (calling from Skype to a landline / mobile) from India to the USA, UK, Australia etc.

Prices will vary as call charges vary in these countries. For instance, calling a landline or a mobile (cell) phone in the USA costs the same. In the UK calling mobiles is much more expensive than calling landlines unless you call from a mobile (in this case both are expensive ).

        I hope this helps.

Thank you Max. I will get back to the desk and compare different plans to see which one works the best for me!
