Fiverr should be called as Three-rr

Its not $5.00...
Fiverr will deduct 1Dollar and then there R charges of currency conversion (if non-US) and bank transfer....Just makes me mad

my 2 cents...

I am sorry for the frustration. fiverr could function better and give a higher value to the sellers (fiverr take $1 and send $4 using paypal --> resulting in 3.xx).

I guess the biggest issue fiverr has is they are stuck to PayPal.

I had the same frustration, to reduce the affect of PayPal I ended allowing multiple withdraw options like moneybooker and alertpay on my website that similar to fiverr.

International seller who choose to use other method are actually making $4 into their account instead of $3. To be decent this as far as I could came up by to reduce these fees. If PayPal is not the most popular payment online, I would personally replace it ( replacing PayPal would solve the issue but who can replace the PayPal)

I guess if fiverr care enough about international seller, they can introduce other options. With their daily amount of sale, fiverr can force companies to offer lower fees

Kinda sucks for sellers. I've never sold anything there just used for outsourcing etc so it never affects me.

You think of fiverr as 'found money'. It should never take you longer than 15 minutes to do any job on fiverr. There's actually a formula for these gig sites: amount of money x 3= the amount of minutes spent on the gig itself.

You are right but some buyers don't think that way - just look at the side and see what kind of job they actually want people to be doing for $5.

When competition rises, everyone just keeps slashing their prices down and down and the quality ones would not want to continue their gigs anymore for a long time...

And I think fiverr should at most only take 50cents cut from each gig, not a dollar.

Take it from somebody who made their first few bucks from Fiverr; I appreciate the service..But after a while you start realising that doing Gigs for what will effectively be $3.90 something(or less) is not a crazy good idea, especially considering that for all intents and purposes you probably won't get a barrage of traffic to make the dollar amounts worthwhile

So this is me saying..'THANKS GIG sites but errr...i think its time i move on?!'

If you can knock the gigs out fast, in like 30 minutes or less then its worth it, but why would anyone work for 5 bucks every 5 hours when they can be building their own business?

I think the best way to answer that Vinny is to understand that there's more ways to use Fiverr than as a platform in and of itself.

When you think outside the box - whether it's on Fiverr or anywhere else - you'll find a lot of doors open up for you.

But to OP - they can back up their Fiverr name since it does cost buyers a 'Fiver' to buy - so from that angle the name makes sense.

I think it's really best, as most people have said, to try to do ONLY gigs you know won't cost you any time (or stress, for that matter). I design business cards, but never on Fiverr because that's too time consuming. I also sample sounds, which I can literally do in under 2-3 minutes, and that's an ideal Fiverr gig.

Finding the balance between something that is of good value to someone else but very little to you, that's the part Fiverr doesn't pay you for. I know someone may want a line from a TV show as a ringtone, which is valuable to them for all the laughs or showing off (or whatever) they'll get, and it takes me almost seconds. I also know that a logo design can be worth thousands, can take weeks and is very very valuable to a client and that there's no way in hell I'd ever design one for not-even-$5.

The problem is Competition and Economy.
Better to do some work and get 3.8$ than sitting idle and thinking about girls.
But In 3.8$ or 30 minutes You can only give half mad gigs which I cant...I just cant dance like gorilla and shout like crazy...Also I am not a hot hot girl that ppl will buy my half mad gigs like crazy....
The best option for quality service providers is to use Fiverr cllones but its true they R babies infront of Fiverr in the no. of business or visitors.

      thnx

I'd be kind of hesitant to describe infringing on copyrights as "...an ideal Fiverr gig". You might want to verify that the ~$4 you're getting for each rip is more than the associated fine for each.

      There's a really easy fix...

      Don't use Fiverr.

You do have other options. It's pointless to bitch about using a platform that you CHOOSE to use.

Let's be honest here, this kind of site always favours the buyer, there is just so much competition when it comes to the outsoucees. If you want the work you are going to have to do it at the site that offers the best price to the buyer

I cannot fathom how people expect to make any money on these Fiverr-type sites, even without the additional fees. You may as well be working for free.

While I do think it's better for buyers, sellers can make decent money too.

You just have to turn those customers who paid you $5 into customers of your premium service for $500

BAM- just saved you from buying one of the 10 million WSOs on making money with Fiverr.

I agree, that's why I'm pausing my Fiverr gig indefinitely. I used it to gain about 7 upsold customers and have started to realize that I'm only earning about $8 an hour providing a legitimate service (something not automated by software).

Personally as a newer IMer I've used it to fund some SEO services I've needed to purchase elsewhere. So far I've made $200 from Fiverr but feel as though its run its course. I can't handle the $3 payments and the high expectations of their customers anymore.

I have been using Fiverr for over a year now, to be honest I don't think it's that bad, given the correct Gigs chosen to promote you will not miss the money that much, I sell quite a lot of daily Gigs which makes me decent earnings.

Ugh, I hate waiting the 14 days for money (lol)

I use Fiverr for automated tasks (I enter information, and the job gets done by software or a website). One of my services does cost money upfront, but it's only a bit and so I get maybe $2 per sale. The only issue with that is waiting around a month to get reimbursed =\. I've sort of solved that by pulling customers to buy my services from my own site.

Heck, from where I sit, 3 bucks a great way to land some big deals! I have had fivers worth hundreds of bucks - and right now negotiating one that will be worth $000s.

I don't mind people leaving Fiverr LOL as there will be more of these to go around :-)

Why not look at as a lost leader and use it as a leverage tool . . .

That's why they're so busy and the other pretenders in the micro jobs business are quiet. It is frustrating though, but everyone has a choice and if you need the extra money then, it's always a small bonus.

I know it does suck that Fiverr takes at least 20% cut from your income (US seller here).

At the same point, I make it a rule to only do things that take me less than 2 minutes on Fiverr. I actually like the formula listed by sadiecopywriter.

However, with my stricter time limit it explains why I generally only do tweets for others. My recommendation is to do something simple like that. I have accounts with 20,000-60,000 followers. I do a tweet and then receive backlinks or graphics completed for clients who pay me a whole lot more than five bucks.

    Just my two cents.

Anyone that provides products or services on fiver should provide automated quality. If you cannot automate your product or service, then you should be doing it for promotional purposes or exposure. My personal principle is always to provide value or don't do it at all.

Do not damage your reputation by providing something that is less than quality even if its free.
