How Well Do One-Time-Offers Do Outside of the IM Niche?

I bet plenty of ebooks in different niches and the only place I've seen have oto's is the IM niche. Is there anyone here that does them outside of the IM niche? I wonder how they perform because in other niches people aren't used to them which could be good or bad depending on the person.

OTO's have been a part of marketing for a long time in the offline world. they work well.

without getting into to much buyer psychology stuff. Here is the simple reason why they work. once a buyer has made a decision to buy from (because they feel you can provide whatever solution or product you promise) they are much more likely to purchase an add on or upsell product. You have already earned their trust by that point.

i have successfully use OTO many times in my 15 yr marketing career in many different niches.

a solid OTO is a great way to add to to your bottom line in any business niche. they should be a part of almost any sales funnel.

Well I guess we all know the sentence "Do you want fries with that?"

As long as you don't make your customers feel bad or feel like they got something inferior and NEED to spend more money to get the full version of your product, you should be fine.

So if they get a full e-book and you upsell them an audio or video version, that's okay. But don't sell them a second e-book and say "Your won't have any success with the first e-book until you know what's in this one!"

Another example: If you sell a book about gardening - how to make your flowers look more beautiful for example - you could always upsell something about how to get rid of the most common pests that eat up your flowers etc.

How many times have you purchased Electronics etc.
and the one time offer is an extended warranty
but you can only purchase it now not later.

You snooze you loose offline or online.

Great advice Tashi, this has happened to me so many times.
