I can't seem to figure out this YouTube video issue I am having. Help!

I have just uploaded a video to YouTube for one of my niche sites.

Next, I embedded the video into the html of a page on that niche site.

All is well.

I played the video to test everything out.....looks great.

At the end of the video though, YouTube displays what appears to be 'similar' video's based on my topic/niche/keywords/etc.

One of the displaying videos is a direct competitor.

Not good.

How do I remove that competitor's video from being displayed at the end of my own video?

Many thanks to the person who can point me in the right direction. I have been looking for quite a bit now, but I am going to have to chalk this up as just being stupid, so I need someone's help.

Thank you!

When you lift the code you have radio check boxes where you can select or remove this.

So you would uncheck 'Show suggested videos when the video finishes'

If this isn't visible on the iframe code, then use the old embed code

You can also remove suggested videos in the embed code, as well as remove the control buttons altogether, autoplay your video, loop the video, and a whole lot more. Let me know if you'd be interested in how to do that.

Okay so you figured out how to check the right radio-box to stop the related videos but I wanted to add a couple thoughts on this topic. (Possibly for others who may be worried about the same issue).

Keep in mind that your Youtube video can be embedded as well on other blogs. Those blog owners will not be concerned about the related videos that show up at the end. One of the ways to combat that is to add your OWN related video links at the end of every video you upload to Youtube. By doing this, you can pretty much guarantee that nobody will see those related videos. See this tutorial >

Screenflow tip: adding links to your other Youtube videos | Youtube

Also, I might point out that that if your videos are good and appear to the viewer as having superior value, you are just not going to have very much competition - if any at all. In fact, if a viewer clicks on a related video, chances are they will go right back to yours after seeing how poor other videos/presentations in the market are.

To that end, it's a good idea to know what videos will come up in YTs related videos so as to get a good handle on the quality (lack of) and the content that your market is looking for and responding to.

Then when writing and creating your video, you will know what you have to do to be better. Then it doesn't matter how many related videos they watch, (because if someone is interested in your niche, they will watch many and) they will be wanting for your content and delivery.

So anyway, there are ways to get around the related video issue, but if you have the best stuff to offer, those related videos will actually help your traffic - not steal it.

    Nice Marty,

I will heed your advice. I happen to think this video in particular is stellar, and compared to the niche and the competition, it destroys the other competing videos, as will future videos on the subject.

YouTube is another beast I have yet to tame.

Boy am I glad I showed up for work today.
