ClickBank now requires PRICE in SIZE 12 font? Seriously?

In the new CB changes, we are required to have a minimum Price Font size ( 12 )

Is this even doable by most people?

6. Pricing

Requirements:
  • Prices must be presented clearly and conspicuously. For recurring billing products (including TRIALS + one rebill), the rebill schedule and pricing must be displayed clearly and conspicuously.
    • Minimum of size 12 font
    • Font in contrasting color to background color

12 pt font is the standard font size in newspapers and print. This is very reasonable.

Considering a lot of products are delivered in 12 or even 14, it is the least someone can do.

Size 12 is pretty damn small. I can't believe you think this is a real issue? If you are not willing to display your price in a font of that size then I'm thinking you shouldn't be selling the product in the first place.

Judging by your signature and the fact it has a Clickbank service you are offering I would be tempted to call signature spam on this thread.

I don't see any other logical reason for it.

Thanks - This is what I was wondering.

12 on paper /ebook is fine - when you're writing a paragraph of text
but in html size 12 would take up 5% of the screen
and font can't be seen larger than 7 by most browsers anyway
        - so it would cause format issues if layout was designed around it
in one that could show it.

So maybe they are talking about something different than what I interpreted or understood ( as evidence by all comments above )
        which is good.

So I guess we'll need to wait and see what they say about my sites that don't have GIGANTIC prices.

This is just completely wrong. You're confusing two entirely different things. What you wrote in your post in "Size 7" has nothing to do with a "7-point font". You've misunderstood it altogether.

There are no worries here, having a size of 12 is actually very small. In fact, I just double-checked all of my Clickbank Vendor products that I sell (I've done several million in CB sales) and all of my fonts are 14 or larger.

I've found that the price point is actually a selling point for your product. Don't be afraid to bold / 18 font / underline / strike / redfont your price.

If your product is good, your pricing point SHOULD be leveraged as a selling point.

If it's not doable for them, then I guess they'll have to sell somewhere else.

Selling on Clickbank, or any other 3rd party site, isn't a right. By using it, you agree to abide by their terms of service.

    No big deal.

      Agreed.

Anyway, I don't see any problem here. In my interpretation CB says that it is the minimum. They didn't says that yours cannot be larger, or am I mistaken?

Why would this be a problem to do? They are trying to make sure that people know, or at least that they have a clear understanding, that they are signing up for something that has recurring billing.

This is not unreasonable at all, as a matter of fact, it is ethical......

I do agree that people should read fine print, but something like this should not be in fine print. If it is in fine print, it is sneaky, sly, tricky and bordering on dishonest.

I think making the price clear is only going to improve people's buying experience.

I've visited so many sites where they don't even mention the price, you have to click the order button to find out.

Standardising the point size of the price is a good idea No more hiding prices!

I think this is the source of confusion. Most of the posters here are assuming CB intended to say '12pt', which would be quite reasonable.

All CB has to do is add a unit to that line to clear things up, although the intent is obvious - to make the price big enough to read, and to put it right there on the sales page.

Also notice that the snip provided by the OP applies specifically to recurring billing products. No more hiding the rebill terms in fine print. They must be big enough to read and in a contrasting color to call attention to them.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. A little sloppy on CB's part, but as the flow of this thread shows, most people got the message.

Oh, and by the time I saw this, the OP's sig was gone...

Hmm - I think it means all products, since mentioned in same paragraph and the specifics are listed below that one paragraph.

The reason I overlooked it last month was because I too at first interpreted only recurring products and certainly can see how recurring products would be major offenders of that.

My issue was that size 12 font won't show bigger than 7 on most browsers
      and
is pretty darn big , too - compared to screen real estate

so it could put pages out of format.

My prices are always nice and big, since they can't buy until
they know the price - ( though, logic & internet behavior
are not always found together )

WSO PRO Price buttons are bigger than size 12 right?

I know WSO only has like... 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 (which kinda kills my point) but some prices are in massive letters.

    Price is mostly irrelevant.

If you're competing on price alone, you need to get your sales letter looked at :p

EDIT: I know prices come in numbers, not letters... I haven't seen many things priced at seven dollars. Still, I refuse to make the correction.
