Let me know what you think - fishing fan page

Hey Guys,

For the past few months I've just been doing a lot of reading on WF, and I learned a lot. Recently I started a fishing fan page on Facebook. I feel like I'm doing everything right by creating a strong relationship with my fans, and also not throwing too many ads at them. I would really appreciate it if you guys took a look at the fan page (and maybe even "Like" it if you are interested in fishing):

The Bass Chronicles | Facebook

Now I have two questions:

1. What do you think of it? How can I improve it?
2. I'm using amazon affiliate for the products I advertise, and I'm getting a few clicks but no one has bought anything. What would you do to reccomend upping the sales, or if you have a different affiliate program you can reccomend I'd really appreciate as well.

I also want to thank all of you for letting me "stalk" these threads and giving me some great advice. I look forward to getting everyones "two cents"

**edit: I've also heard that people openly tell their fans that they are amazon affiliates, should I be doing this as well?

I've been building Facebook pages probably as long as anyone on the forum and there are many factors that play into developing an easy presence and I personally believe you've done an excellent job. Complex is not always best. As a fisherman, I love the images and your welcome page does the job. (Maybe a bit more text under the image to bait the visitor.) Since you just started the page August1st or so, you've done a great jog building a reasonable amount of Fans (bought or captured does not matter...just get them) but you have not secured a user name. You Facebook web address should be https://Facebook.com/TheBassChronicles instead it is still https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-B...26863447355294 ...Once you have 25 fans, you should grab the name asap.

    Lastly, try uploading videos...

Facebook allows for 180 by 540 pixels for your side image. Get creative and redesign it. It's the one thing all your visitors will see all the time. See my main Facebook page for examples. https://Facebook.com/PageBuilders

If I think of anything more, I'll let you know

Thanks Pro, I really appreciate the input. What kind of conversions are you seeing on your fan page in terms of ads? Would you reccomend me to advertise things which are a bit more expensive like rods and casts, or should I start of with lures that are something like 5-$20?

Start by liking every page on Facebook that has any interest in Fishing. Once you like a page, their posts will appear in your news feed. (BTW you should always like pages while you are using the Bass page and not from your profile page). On the top right under account, you can log in as your page. This way when you read a post from a page of interest, you can post relative comments and your name and logo will get the exposure from interested people without the cost of ads. As it stands now, you are only exposing your page to those who have liked it. Start liking relative pages and your exposure will dramatically change.

My first impression was that something was missing. Your welcome page would benefit, I believe, from a personal message from you.

Your newsletter signup has the basic form, but no real benefits, no explanation of what to expect and how often, and no call to action.

Other than that, I think you're off to a flying start. The contest has some excellent photos submitted, which tells me you are engaging your audience.
