Getting cheaper clicks on facebook ads

I recently created my squeeze page + free report + 20 messages in my autoresponder promoting 1 clickbank product for a start.

I want to advertise my squeeze page with facebook however, while setting up my ads, the suggested bid was in the region of $2.78 - $4.00.

i have tried to drill down targeting age range e.g. (45-50, 30-34 etc) combined with relationship status, specific with states and also tried targeting individuals with university education with certain interest but without much success.

Anyone can help with tips to make this work? I'll appreciate every help i can get

In my small experience I found you could bid 1/2 of the average recommend price and still get impressions.

The big payoff comes if your ads get a good ctr, better than 0.15%, with enough ad volume the CPC should drop, people talk about getting rates under $0.10.

Might take something irresistible to get the high CTR, like those Facebook sweepstakes on Fan Pages. I believe a Fan page for a landing page automatically gets you lower CPC than going off site, though FB doesn't like clickbank links.

What you need to o is split test. Create one campaign with different age groups. The one that is most effective is what you focus on. Then you change the headline and see which one is more effective. Then you change the picture. If you have a really effective ad running, it could get to as low as $.01/click. I know a people who get it that low. If you're interested in free training on this, head over to my fan page over here. It's all about optimizing our fb ads to get cheaper clicks.

I have been able to get a lot of my ads with clicks of only $0.01 - $0.04. The only way to do this is to have a very high click through rate and to bid on CPM (per 1000 impressions) instead of CPC (cost per click). You'll find it very hard to get prices anywhere near that low when you are bidding CPC. But if your ad does NOT have a high click through rate you can also waste a lot of money if bidding CPM.

So most important is to get your CTR nice and high and then advertise to nice tight and targeted groups of only 5,000 - 50,000 people. That's what has worked for me.

Here's an example of just one of my recent campaigns with a CPC of only $0.03. The CPC was actually at only $0.01 for the first week or so but as time goes on the CTR falls a little as the same people keep seeing the same ad. I was bidding on a CPM basis:
