What Ping List Should I Use in My WP Blog?

Hello!

maybe someone can help me. Should I use the default ping service that is already provided in a WP blog, which is Pingomatic, or should I use a longer ping list? As part of one Internet marketing course that I took, I received a ping list of 164 different ping services! Should I use this long list or is it enough for me to just use the default Pingomatic? An opinion on this would be appreciated. Thank you very much!

In my experience, you don't need to use a pinging service with Wordpress. I used to post something and would try to ping it, and would that message: "whoa, you're pinging too fast" or whatever, so I quit doing it. This would happen over and over again.

I would suggest using the default services. However, there is one problem with wp and that is anytime you edit your old posts, it again pings the post, and since too much pinging can be considered spamming, you could get in trouble.

To combat this problem, you could either disable pinging on wp and simply ping your new posts manually, or get a plugin that stops the over pinging.

Thank you! I am using the cbnet ping optimizer plugin to prevent pinging whenever I edit a post.
