Domain name question?

What happens when a domain reaches this stage:

NOTICE: This domain name expired on 07/22/2011 and is pending renewal or deletion

Does the pending renewal make any difference? Or is this considered dropped even though it's renewed?

Thanks

depends on who it is register with. normally, the original owner gets 30+ days or so after the domain expires to renew the domain. once it expires that usually costs them more money though.

basically, when a domain expires, there is a grace period of sorts for the old owner to pick it up again.

      Hi

Yes I understand the renewal process, but what I was wondering is the age reset back to zero. Does the pending renewal make a difference?

      Thanks

You can either renew or just let the domain go. If you put work into and are selling somethign on that site, then you might as well renew. I believe the age will stick with it as well

In my experience, stats (that you would want for SEO) do not reset unless it is deleted and available to be registered again. Just going through that grace period shouldn't reset the stats.

You should still have time to renew it. I have mine set to auto renew. I forget quite often. I have over 300 domains that I have to keep up with.

You should have about 30 days to renew it for the normal fee after it expires. Then another 45 days or so to renew it for $100 or $200. The last phase is a 5 day "pending delete" phase, then it becomes available for anyone to register.

As others have said, the first 30 days after that notice is still renewable at no additional cost...after that it gets expensive.
