I spent a full year writing an eBook, making tears and now it's out! This is an exciting day for me!

Wooaoa! A full year has gone since I opened Microsoft Word and started writing the first words.

A year full of joy, lot of parties, tears, sweat and blood. While I had lot of fun writing the eBook, I also was on the verge of giving up from time to time. My computer crashed and I lost all my documents and I had sworn that I would never open a Word Document ever again. But I did.

Today I received an email from ClickBank, after a lot of back and forth, that my product was finally to join the family.
It's going to be a very exciting day for me

Thanks to my mom's support (I love you mommy) I'm proud to say that I now has my first product out live!

Cheers guys and have a good day, i know i will

    Congrats and best of luck with your ebook. I have an ebook being written for me right now. I can't write to save my life so I have to outsource the writing. You mentioned losing your work. I've had that happen to me also. Now I back up my entire hard drive to an external hard drive. I also manually back up my important data to the hard drive from time to time.

    There is nothing worse than losing all of your data in a pc issue. BTW. if the hard drive still spins there is software that can recover the data from the hard drive. If the drive won't spin you can still get the data backed up using data recovery services but it isn't cheap. They charge $700 - $1000 normally.

    that's great buddy, but one year is pretty long you took to have your first ebook in place. You should be doing that max in one month and start testing it.

    I know the pain it takes to build a site for 6 months and see it not converting. I am not saying this to discourage you but online you have to create quick campaigns and test them fast so if they fail you can really do something else or switch over to other things.

    I am sure you have done your research work thoroughly about the ebook topic you have written. All the best buddy. A cool tip for your next product is that create an audio product. I recently created a 5.5 hour audio training package in 4 days, that too being lazy with salesletter and all the bells and whistles and already sold around $400 of them.

    That's how you should launch campaigns. However if that was your first ebook congrats but from next time avoid writing ebooks, rather speak fast and record audio and video products and launch them super fast.

    All the best and I am sure you will soon see the sales ROLLING!

      Wouldn't that depend on what he's writing about? For instance, we have someone here selling a 500 page book on how she went from nothing to a millionaire in 12 months. It's an indepth book on everything from niches to SEO and everything inbetween. She has a website she sells it on as well as on Amazon. I believe she said it took her 6 months to write and put it all together. So if he's doing something indepth I can see it taking a while if things aren't being outsourced.

        you're exactly right, it depends upon the topic how much time it will take to put it together. But considering someone who is writing his first ebook and probably new to online business I would rather advise to roll things out quick, test it out fast so if it does not work you will not have a heart attack the way I had when I started online.

        I believe you should not give sufficient amount of time on one project before you test it out thoroughly.

        If he really believed the topic he is writing an ebook will be a BIG hit he should have rather roll out a list building campaign, start driving traffic to it and ask his subscribers what they really want. Then promote them some affiliate offers based on their question.

        Once he sold few hundred worth of affiliate products then he would be confident enough to roll out an ebook on that topic because now he knows that would sell pretty good.

        Your friend, probably when she is writing how she made her first million is already extremely successful in her niche, she might have done most of the testing part, so she is pretty much confident that once she rolls out her book it will be a smash hit. Also probably her list of thousands of subscribers or JV partners and contacts might be the backbone of her campaign.

        I really appreciate on the efforts he has put up, that's one full year to roll out the first ebook, very few do that, but it will save him time, efforts and money if he goes about testing it first.

        Many top online marketers whom I have studied, when they enter a new niche this is the tactic they use. If they want to write an ebook in a new niche they create the salesletter first, setup the order button and start driving traffic to their sales page even without creating or writing their ebook.

        When a visitor clicks on the order button they are presented with a squeeze page saying that the finishing touches of the ebook are yet to be done and they tell them to subscribe.

        With this approach they not only test that their ebook will be a bit hit because they know their sales conversion in advance but also they now have a list of ready made prospects who will buy the ebook as soon as it launches. This not only saves time and money but huge frustration if the ebook bombs.

        I made my first website and it took me 6 months to roll out the design, put content, affiliate offers and all the bells and whistles. It did not make me a single dime and it was a HUGE frustration I faced in my initial days. I realised my mistake and then I put my second site very quickly with a simple resell right product and it made me my first $24.95. Then I took that project and rolled it out slowly to pull in over $20k with my third site.

        Now I have my forth site with a 100k plan, this is how you should go step by step and build upon something that works.

        I guess this is how you should approach things step by step. Hope this helps...:confused:

    Hey, cheers *lifts glass to computer screen* Here's to you, Mike.

    I am a writer and KNOW what that first time is all about. It can be a real struggle -- but when it's done, it's a part of you and a source of pride and accomplishment that nobody can ever take away from you.

    And now you also know, inside of your spirit, not just in your head, why you should never give up. Could you trade the feeling you have right now for any other in the world?

    Just keep on doing it - now that you've done it, it just keeps getting better.

    Prosperity to you -- just don't forget us when you're rich and famous.

        No, just giving the canon fodder a dose of reality before this industry chews him up and spits out what is left of him.

        This industry progresses 3 times faster than a bricks and mortar business. Take a year to write a book that is 'new' and it is superseded before it hits the digital shelves. One one man's blood sweat and tears is just another man's research material.

        Of course I could just join in and increase my post count with a shallow slap on the back while sniggering behind his back at the lack of efficiency, but that is not my style.

        In this industry you publish or perish. Academia aint got nothing on us.

          Ya know - what this guy just did was hard for him....but he did it. He cut through adversity to do it. He had a goal, saw it through to the end, worked hard to figure out how to do it.

          He deserves every "shallow" slap on the back he gets for that. He did well for himself. He developed self-discipline, focus, and an understanding of how to do something that he didn't previously have.

          So let him have his time in the sun -- he deserves so much. Most on here will never get that far.

          And yes, he will have disappointments - things will happen that enrage him, or just take the wind out of his sails. Who has that not happened to? Name someone who hasn't gotten slapped around a little in any of their chosen fields, online or offline. There is a time to celebrate, and it should be used for celebration. All other aspects of business can wait for a little self congratulations for a job well done. And this was that time.

          Do you find it a habit also to remind the bride and the groom of divorce statistics when you greet them in the reception line? Perhaps you tell friends with diseases the exact poor odds of surviving when they find out they are ill?

          You do realize that if this guy talked to you before making his book that your attitude might have just beat him down enough to not even try if he succumbed to it? Yes, there are realities of this business - but I've never met anyone who succeeded because they took a negative or futile view of what they are doing.

          He had the discipline and fortitude to take action - if things do not go right, or he needs to further develop, he has what it takes to adjust and make it. If he stays away from attitudes that you just displayed - he will keep striving and developing and he can make it.

          I would much rather have my post count rise for congratulating someone for a show of the right principles than to get it by seeing how "realistic" and discouraging I can be when the occasion calls for celebration. However, if this is how you choose to celebrate with friends, the next time I see an elated post from you, I'll remember to bring my umbrella.

    Good luck with this mate I hope it works really well.

    My first clickbank product was a complete failure. I learned alot of lessons though. I sat and designed over 1000 banners and buttons for days and days. i took days understanding how to do all of it myself. i didn't outsource anything at all, not graphics and not the web page design. I hadn't even heard of email marketing then. Anyway due to not understanding and not much research it failed miserably and i took it off Clickbank.

    I actually made a loss fnancially but a massive gain in knowledge. Either way with the amount of work you've put in you're a winner so the est of luck to you !!!

    Somebody said that it couldn't be done,
    But, he with a chuckle replied
    That "maybe it couldn't," but he would be one
    Who wouldn't say so till he'd tried.
    So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
    On his face. If he worried he hid it.
    He started to sing as he tackled the thing
    That couldn't be done, and he did it.

    Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you'll never do that;
    At least no one has done it";
    But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,
    And the first thing we knew he'd begun it.
    With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
    Without any doubting or quiddit,
    He started to sing as he tackled the thing
    That couldn't be done, and he did it.

    There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
    There are thousands to prophesy failure;
    There are thousands to point out to you one by one,
    The dangers that wait to assail you.
    But just buckle it in with a bit of a grin,
    Just take off your coat and go to it;
    Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
    That "couldn't be done," and you'll do it.

      The great thing is you can now think back to this accomplishment after so much persistence if/when the going gets tough next time.

      Wish you every success with sales.

      The obvious topic for your next book is all the shortcuts and workarounds you've thought of while writing this book!

    Well Done Mike!

    You have became my inspiration. My aim is to write an E-book for my niche. Aim to market it on my website & through other means too. However that's some time away. I wish you all the best with your E-book & I hope we get a chance to see your marketing page
