Learning to bulid my amazon review website by myself a must?

Hello WF members,
I am new here and new to IM except for some time spent reading online and trying to grasp some stuff here and there.

I recently bought a manual about "how to start amazon review site" however, the author suggests that I do most stuff by myself especially the part of building my own review website. I went through the course and it shows how to do this using wordpress and SEO blugins and a lot of technicals that I am even scared of the idea of doing it all by myself. I already have my chosen product to search, and I am trying hard to read the course and understand all aspects of it including writing article and trying to stay a head of competition. I am not confident that I can build my own website though and the way he displays it is so complicated to me eventhough he has videos for it!!. My questions here are:-

Can't I outsource this part of the venture?

his reasoning is that if I don't get how to do this from the begining I won't be able to do other site building- related stuff in future and that I will need a lot of amazon review sites in future that will make outsourcing them all not profitable for a newbie. What do you WF members think?

- is there any one here who outsourced his first review sites and was successful with them?

-If so can you kindly refer me to a good and reliable outsourcing place that is honest and affordable?
I know I am new to all this and it will take very hard work and long time to grasp it and see results, and lastly I hope this business is not even saturated since I see a lot of folks trying to do it.
Thank you in advance for your help.

If you aren't happy doing it for yourself and can afford to outsource the initial site building then just outsource it. You will find plenty of people willing to do it for you in the Warriors for Hire section of this forum. Go with someone that has positive reviews for their service.

Unless you can afford to outsource it all you will need to know how to do something, so if it isn't building the site you should learn how to drive traffic to it once it is built and/or do the initial research.

Or just start off by doing product reviews on free sites such as Hubpages, Squidoo or Blogger.

"NicSennen" is right, you could use free sites such as hubpages, blogger, squidoo, wordpress, webs, or weebly. As far as building your first site goes, I recommend creating the first one by yourself, that way you will know how to do it and have the experience on hand when you outsource your site building to someone. Then, you will be able to clearly answer any questions that your outsourcer has.

Don't use free sites like Hub Pages and Squidoo to build your business on.

You need to own your own sites and content. What happens if Squidoo or Hub pages decides to take your pages down for some reason when you've built them up to make you say 2K a month?

Get your own domain and build your own site first or hire someone to build it for you. This way you can build your business the right way fom the start and no-one can take it away from you.

      Cheers

Building your own sites is not hard it really is not, but you have to take the time and understand there is a learning curve, but if you focus on it I promise you you will be pushing sites out in no time.

Outsourcing fees will add up quickly even at only a few bucks an hour.

If the current course does not suit you then find one that does and take the necessary time you need to focus and learn the skills you will need to succeed.

        Good Luck

You can outsource any work you are not comfortable doing. But, it would be in your best interest to learn how to do it yourself even if you are going to outsource it. You don't want to have to rely on outsourcers to do everything because you don't know how to do it yourself.

In a perfect world you want to learn how to do it yourself...then teach your outsourcers how to do it to save you time. If you don't learn how to do it you will be at the mercy of your outsourcers. You won't know if they are doing it correctly or not.

I really don't feel it is a tough job to create a wordpress job. Infact if you have a cpanel account you can have a blog up within 10 mins. Considering you are starting out and you will have to create dozens of blog it is a skill you should be learning because if you outsource this stuff the costs might go up than the profits you will make initially and this might demotivate you if the cash flow is not fast.

However if you have the money to outsource till the time you see decent profits go ahead with it. A good and cheap idea will be to hire a techie in India or phill on a job basis if you have multiple blogs to be created every month.

You can get good techies from India and you can see their resumes at naukri.com, this is the top job recruiting site in India. Hope this helps...

I agree, while you can outsource it, it's really not that hard if you have the right support system in place to help you along.

You can do it by yourself and save the money towards link building, which is usually the most tedious part of it all.

It may look difficult because you're brand new to all this, but just follow the course you've bought. Most courses teach you how to build a complete website using Wordpress putting in only 1-2 hours per day. Once you get proficient at it, you could build 2-3 of these websites per day.

You mentioned you're trying hard to read the course, so I'm assuming it's in .pdf format. Most likely an eBook.

I learn best by watching someone do everything step by step in front of me. If you're looking for a great step by step course on how to build these Amazon affiliate sites, go through Gaz Cooper's AMZ Training Academy. Top notch video course and last I checked, he was offering it for free. Can't go wrong with that.

    Much luck!

I agree with what others are saying. You should learn the ropes first by building your first sites, then outsource or you could end up someone doing a crappy job if your not fully sure what specifically needs to be done.

  • If you want to outsource I recommend Scriptlance (inexpensive) and Elance (better for newbies but more expensive).

Of course I'd recommend you build it yourself, using WordPress, for obvious reasons

WordPress is a doddle to use and when you start using and built the first site any reason you want to outsource so you can build more moneymaking sites.

The best thing you can do is to just start and stop finding things that might get in your way. The good thing about WordPress is any problems you have been asked 1 million times before, so even if you're stuck just Google it and you will find an answer.

It's not rocket science and WordPress is pretty much idiot proof so don't panic.

    Good luck

I would say its not essential to do it yourself, but if you use it as a learning oportunity then its good practice. Once you know the processes involved, your a lot more informed when it comes to how to outsource it.

I like to perform tasks myself before getting it automated for that exact reason.

Thanks to you all who replied to my thread and sent their valuable feedback, I really appreciate your taking time to write it.
I have another question though, esp for those amazon affiliates with more experience:-
This is what I found after researching a niche I want to enter on google ad tools:-
1 My broad keyword a stuff that is considered kitchenware has local monthly search of 368,000 and it says"medium competition" on the blue colmun.
2-the exact match word has "high competition sign" and it's local monthly is 6,600/month. the exact search I am choosing is describing the kitchen stuff more precisely e.g. "Silver plated" which has 6,600/monthly as I said above.
My question:- Since it's a high competition on the icon for my "exact kewy.w. should I just ignore this item and go for a lower competiton among my broad keyword? I know the monthly rate of 6000+ is good,
however, I remember reading Chuckys recommendation somewhere in this forum for newbie affiliates to target low competiton keywords?
      Thank you so much.

As many have said here, it's best to do a few sites yourself. If you try to outsource it, you won't know exactly what you want (because you don't know yet!) That's not good, and you'll end up unhappy with what your outsourcer delivers. (And they'll be unhappy with you, too.)

If you know that your product is something that people are interested in, and buying (for example, because there are lots of reviews on the Amazon pages), then go for it. But you may not be able to tackle the difficult keywords at first. Instead, go for longer tails, like "where to buy [product]" or "[product] on sale". These are usually good buying keywords, and you can get your foot in the door for the higher volume keywords. Good luck!

          Link,
Thanks for your valued reply, examples you gave explain them more, before I read your input I thought more reviews for a product by more amazon affiliates = more compeition for me to face? oh well I guess the course I bought is not very newbie friendly.

Personally I think for me it was nice to learn myself (and continue to learn). It takes more time yes, but I enjoy learning and find it really interesting. Also you'll benefit further down the line because you will have a wealth of experience to call on for future ventures.

That being said, if you just want to start making money and can afford to outsource. Then outsource. But make sure you have your niche researched correctly before pouring money into developing. Outsourcing will help you make money with far less effort on your part, but only if you have your research done correctly!

    Good luck!

Learn to build a site. Typepad is super easy, but costs more than WordPress (.org version). I prefer WordPress.org sites, but if you really don't want to deal with hosting accounts, try Typepad or similar online website builders like Yola, Webs, Weebly. The problem with online builders is you'll pay more in the long run, especially if you build multiple sites. But it's better than being dependant on a webmaster.

I fell into this stuff because I needed a website for my offline business. I had paid $3K for my offline business site before I learned to do it myself. The site I paid for wasn't very good. I now build them better for peanuts. The end result is I've been able to build multiple sites for my offline business whereas before I couldn't and was dependant on a webmaster. Of course, once I discovered IM, I couldn't resist jumping in with my newfound skill. It really is liberating to know how to build a site.
