Exactly. A rather cheap tactic to get more views, clicks or sales.

"WSO of the day" is personal opinion only. I suppose in people's own opinions, theirs is/was the "WSO of the day". :p

Don't imagine that the forum has its own, official "WSO of the day".

That term's in widespread use by a private service called WSO-Pro, but it's in no way affiliated to the forum, or "official", or judging WSO's "on behalf of the forum" or anything of the kind. It's simply part of the marketing technique of WSO-Pro's owner, i.e. "opinion"/"marketing", too. It's about "pretending to look official".

I would call it a pretty sad attempt at marketing but...
I guess a title like that would bring the sales up a notch.

As already mentioned, WSO of the day is not an official designation by WF. It is, however an official designation by WSO Pro. And like it or not, it does carry considerable weight with some people. As for people saying they had WSO of the day when they weren't actually given that distinction officially, who cares. Really, this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone in this smash and grab world.

Maybe I could do a "WSO of the Month"! It's all marketing, right? Or lying. While we're at it, hmmm. Someone could do a WSO of the Year that 4 out of 5 dentists surveyed (all in your own family, of course) recommend. Or with the proliferation of WSOs, it could the the "WSO of the Minute". That balance between solid marketing and over-hyping is just so hard to find...

It's not enough to want it... you have to want it enough.

Well, like what MValmont said...it's marketing. However these guys do it, it brings in the views...but it also sullies their reputation. So whatever success they're enjoying now, it won't last...

If they are churning out a wso every day, it would be their wso of the day

Could it be that they are a WarriorPro affiliate and they are sending you their affiliate links for each day's WSO of the day? Just a thought.

Could It that you are on Mike Lantz's list. He sends out the WSO of the day each day.

Or like it has been said, maybe they have a private award ceremony and dub their WSO the WSO of the day.

I think eventually what is going to separate the men from the boys is when someone realizes they should be branding themselves and committing to what ever award by saying "Awarded WSO of the Day by Schwarzes Inc" or "Awarded WSO of the Day by AvenueGirl" Or "WSO of the Day by WSO Pro"

If I saw "Awarded WSO of the Day by WSO Pro" and "Awarded WSO of the Day by George Wright" you know - one of those would actually hold more weight for me by the other. And my answer is probably different than the majority as to which I would personally find to have more weight.

They do that because if you think it is something that everyone is rushing for, you are most likely to join the gold rush. It is just a sales trick so do your own research and see if it really is the WSO of the day.
