Noob-friendly Squeeze Page + Mailchimp + ebook

I just adapted Ryan Deiss' free top converting squeeze page template for my personal productivity niche site, and got it working with MailChimp. You can copy all the code. I also cleaned up the graphics a little which makes them easier to adapt. Then I copied his thankyou page format from this site: triadformula dot com, which is a really good reference point for what OptimizePress can do.

For my freebie, I just googled "free pdf ebook template," plugged it into LibreOffice, added automatic page numbering, and I was good to go.

So basically I've got a high-converting squeeze page + freebie now with zero money invested, and I did it with minimal coding and photoshop skills.

That's pretty awesome, and I hope some other newbies can benefit from this.

Here's the site where you can copy the template and code - cyborganize dot org

Since I don't know how to make wordpress templates, I installed wordpress on a subdirectory and just uploaded the squeeze page as index.html

Wish I'd done this a lot sooner, then I'd already have a nice list. But I didn't know how to do it, or that it could be so easy.

Enjoy!

Thanks Louie. If you guys liked that, check out the page that doubled my conversion rate (downloads, not sales) from 15% to 30%. I imitated Evernote.com. Feel free to rip off my code:

    brainstormsw dot com

Once you start to realize how eye flow works (Deiss' video is great for that) then stuff starts making sense. But I'd rather do the more laid back evernote style than the in-your-face forex style, because I think the former converts better.

Well done on starting a list, Joseph - just about the most valuable thing you can do, in internet marketing.

I'm just wondering what made you decide to use Mailchimp? I thought that very few people here used it, after so many Warriors have reported losing their lists there. This thread, and this thread, and this thread and others all seem to suggest pretty strongly that Mailchimp should be avoided ... also, if you do any affiliate marketing (or any of the many other things they don't like), even if you don't do it/them at Mailchimp, you can still lose your account and your list(s) there, as explained here.

If you'll excuse the observation, I'd actually strongly suggest avoiding a "free" autoresponder altogether, for all the reasons explained here.

Thanks for the advice. I'll back up regularly. It's free, that's the main reason. I'll upgrade later. I'm not too enthused with the squeeze page approach anyway.

"Upgrade" to what, Joseph? What will you do with the list you might have built up at Mailchimp (if they don't close you down first over their terms of service, as has happened to so many others here)?

"Backing it up" is one thing - importing it elsewhere is a whole different ball game.

Alexa's right. Mail Chimp is kinda fussy about affiliate promotions.

Aweber offers a $1 trial (for 1 month).

GetResponse is free for 100 subscribers.

Imnica Mail offers a $1 trial and it's monthly charge is only $3!

I think you'd prefer GetResponse since it's free to get started. You still have time to switch.. Do it while you can
