You can use the provided aweber code to add it to a sidebar widget or within a page. Just choose the HTML tab for pages.

Some themes already have options for aweber coding. Also, you can customize the aweber box pretty well within the aweber opt-in creation step.

As far as other sources, I don't know of any, but I know that you can take pieces of the code and use them with other, aweber/opt-in friendly themes (think OptimizePress) for a better look.

Yes, as above you can use the Widgets and then just use the HTML option and remember to configure your form in Aweber for how you want it.

This is the quickest way or you can search the plugins in Wordpress I am sure there is something that will help you - I think Aweber have a plugin for this if I am not mistaken?

As stated it can be placed in a text widget on the sidebar. However this does not change the look of the form. FYI- This is my preferred method- I tweek the Aweber form down to it's bare minimum and it works fine for me.

Another option is to go to wordpress. org and search the list of plugins available.

In Step 1 of the Forms wizard in Aweber you can configure an optin box to look like you want it from just a basic name and email to ones with graphics. Then in Step 3 you can copy the simple javascript code and paste it into a text widget in your sidebar. And as Chris mentioned above, Aweber does have a plugin if you don't want to use the text widget.

If you want to display a free report above the optin box, you can simply add another text widget above the form and use HTML code to display the report image.

Does anyone recommend a plugin to make your opt-in pop up when the reader visits or exits your site?

I haven't tried a weber yet as I use a free service called list wire, but I presume adding an opt in box is the same for all. You add your auto responder code to a text widget in your sidebar or you can add it into your theme if you know what you are doing.

I ended up just creating a squeeze page with my opt in form in it and added it to my blog.

If you would like to know how I did all this my signature is a link to a free report I created detailing how to add any squeeze page to a wordpress blog with out affecting your current theme. You can also remove your squeeze page from your sites navigation so you can advertise it separately from your blog.

A squeeze page with opt in form is super! But I think there is a plugin for wordpress that works really good.

I agree, there are many squeeze page plugins but they all cost. Using my report you can add any squeeze page you wish, or create your own. That is why I created it.
I think for a newbie it is important to try something free before buying something that they may not get full use of
