Hesk help needed please

I've set up hesk as a support help desk but cant get my email messages to work - just get 404 errors in the links to the support tickets.

I don't suppose anyone can advise about this?

Many thanks

sounds like a server path issue to me. meaning you emails are sending links that have an incorrect link path.

    ie... yourdomain.com/helpdesk/..... instead of
    yourdomain.com/support/......

i think the guy from hesk will install it for like $20. may be worth it.

Yea - the emails are getting to the right place .. but still not working. I may go for the guy to install as the software looks really good.

Or maybe swap it for OS ticket - which looks good as well?

Has anyone tried this support software ??

      Thanks

i know several who have used hesk. its a pretty simple, clean system that works pretty well. (once you get it installed)

os ticket is also usually thought of in good regard in the forum here, so i dont think either of those are bad choices.

I've got mine installed strait on the root but notice the path of the 404 error is including a hesk folder which I dont have. I wonder if you have to make this folder to install hesk in to?

sounds like that was the problem i was trying to explain in my first post. there should be a settings option or more likely a config.php file that will contain the path the software is installed on.

it may be set to default that the software thinks it installed in the /hesk/ sub-folder.

That sounds great thanks - but how would I go about the editing procedure?

i would guess your issue is in a config.php file. you can edit that file in a number of ways. if your site is hosted on a cpanel host, there should be a link to a "file manager" from there, you would need to find the file and there will be an "edit" link. usually in the top menu bar.

the script will have lots of stuff that looks sort of greek, but you will probably be able to pick out the path url.

*** be sure to have the file backed up before you go playing with it. ***

if you are pretty new to messing with the files, its fairly likely you will mess it up before you fix it...just being honest. and no worries, if you do, its not the end of the world. the worst thing you may have to do is re-upload/ install the hesk program again. no one will die.

    Sorted it!!

It was a field in the setup that was automatically adding the hesk folder to the address. Just needed tweaking )

Thanks for the help everyone that replied.

    regards
