EMD? How important?

INTERNET MARKETING

Hey iv come across a fantastic keyword it gets 22200 exact local searches each month and cpc is £3.21 and the comp on page one is extremely easy to beat the re is hubapge pages with few links and squido with few links, (less then 10 links) the keyword is a longtail it consists of 5 words, but the problem is there is no exact match domain but also on page one there is a domain like this xkeyword.com the x has nothing to do with the keyword but still ranking high the page has 8 backlinks with none being higher then pr 3,

What do you warriors think is it worth getting a domain such as keywordreviews.com reviews would suit the keyword very well as well,

Definitely. EMDs give you a slight advantage but people tend to over estimate their value.
Build enough backlinks and you will beat any EMD any day of the week.

Not a huge one, but still an advantage nonetheless.

See if any hyphenated domains are available. Or you could add a suffix at the end, as you said.

Ex: keyword1-keyword2.com, keyword1keyword2HQ.com

Sounds like it would be pretty easy without the EMD so just buy a domain with the keywords in it. Add "s" or "guide" or "tips" or whatever to the end. An EMD will only be slightly more advantageous anyway.

I have seen it give a very small advantage, but it's definitely not a killer technique. As someone else said, it's often overstated, as if having an EMD would guarantee top ranking for the phrase- it won't.

well pretty important... EMDs with hundred thousand exact searches a month... who owns them.. oh yeah.. its me.. :p
