Hi,

I read in a book that "...some people do make reasonable sums from building pages that are packed with CPM advertising materials and then showing those pages through high volume traffic generation programs like traffic exchanges."

I also read that some people do that by buying "cheap junk traffic".

Is it true?

It seem just too easy to be true.

Is it work even with almost no content of value and almost no conversion for those ads.

Sorry if my question sound stupid, I don't know much about cpm ads.

Thank for your answers.

    Define "reasonable sums"....

Buying "cheap junk traffic" and getting it to convert at a profit is something they call "arbitrage". People have made money doing that. I have done it, but not at enough of a profit to keep doing it.

The problem that I had was that I could not get enough of that cheap traffic to make it worth the time invested.

The chances of it working without any content is slim-to-none, but not impossible.

The problem is all down to click through rate. Filling a webpage with adds just does not work unless it is a landing page which can work, but that is a whole other story.

If you are parking a domain its a great way of generating some revenue for the parking fees, but do not expect it to fill your bank account.

So if someone is parking a domain and fill this page with CPM ads(not PPc) and use high volume traffic generation programs like traffic exchanges or other way to create free or cheap traffic, he can make money, but not much.

Something like 10 or 15$ for 1000 page view?

    Is it right?

    Thank for your answers.
