Drug & Addiction Niche

Although this is a very hard market to get recognised in. I am going to try really hard to do it. Get a good community and try and offer a good service.

Although the stuff I have just said above is in the future because my website is only 4 months old. Do you think their is a good niche for Drug & Addiction? I am a volunteer as a drug worker and I wanted to use my experiences of learning now as a website to help others for my future career. It may work it may not.

Just want to know what is the cheapest service or the best service to create good quality back-links to increase my traffic? Am not interested in making any money yet mainly because I want to offer content first then build a community then offer a service.

I would use your knowledge to create your own content-oriented backlinks on high PR sites. So Web 2.0 sites like Squidoo, Hubpages, and Ezine. I would also do guest posting on blogs and such. Share good information and people will want to read more from you. Since you are actually out in the trenches, I would bet you have tons of information to share that would pull people to your site.

Never thought of that. Thanks. Suppose I could write on those of websites to draw audience to my own website.

There is good adsense payouts for the drug niche. You could also collect leads and sell them. This is a niche I'm in as you can tell by my name and signature.

Agree, it's huge... I have one on the homepage of google... and now my adsense has stopped working!

Anyway, op, if you can rank for some of the most lucrative keywords, you'll make a mint.

      One question comes to mind...

Are you targeting the right audience? Do addicts and abusers look for help online?

      I don't know, just asking.

Would you be better served, perhaps, targeting the people who want to help the addict, who are hunting for help online? Turn them into 'fans' (not the right word, but you get the intent), and get them to advocate for using your service?

      Food for thought...

Good food for thought, I welcome suggestions but from what I understand with what I have learnt is people don't like to be labelled for example in public going to drug rehab places & seeing drug workers to help them, especially the first time. They may want to go online get help before they go to that stage, if that makes sence. That's the type of audience I would like or health professional's or even people who support the fight against drugs.

I personally don't think there is (or will ever be) a bigger audience concerning addiction(s) as today's world seems in desperate need of "self-help" solutions, and I commend anyone devoted to providing guidance to those in need.

I think you've chosen a niche fueled by your passion, and if so, you're already way ahead of many, whose sole focus is surpassed by ways to make money off another persons needs.

That said, if you can put yourself in their shoes, you can guide them, and inspire them to take action to replace those 'habits' with something more rewarding, and then the skies the limit, and the money will follow!

*While my response 'spawns' from overcoming my own prior addiction(s), I haved leaned heavily into the psychology and human behavioral patterns that instigated most of those subconscious 'habits' which later formed into 'addictions'.

While I am NOT the best critic, especially when it comes to your approach...might I suggest delivering your message(s) on the site in such a way that reflects concern for the visitor's needs, as oppossed to the first paragraph which implies YOU are procrastinating.

No insult intended, I respect what you are doing, and you are taking ACTION.

I really didn't spend but a minute on the site, and my first impression was formed, as such:

"I really need to start doing... | I have began to do this..."

While this is great for a journal entry, PUT Yourself in the visitors shoes, and snap them back in their seat, as if you were in their head...once you have their attention, then by all means share in your personal experiences, whereby you 'target' an audience who can relate.

Building your website is one topic, building/delivering your information on that niche site is another.

Again, no insult intended, as I am still learning to 'practice' what I preach.

    All the Best,
