Need your help - No ideas at all

Hi all,

My customer has sent me a request to rank a site, it is not a niche site at all, in fact, it does not have any kw.

It just provide a google custom search, something like the following one

SearchBlaster.com - Your Internet LaunchPad!

Has anyone done any SEO with these kinds of site before? Will like to know have any ideas on it.

    I would think backlinks from any sort of general authority IT/technology websites would be good.

      But if there are no content in the, is solely build backlink enough? what is the anchor text?

    Ye that's a tricky one, you'll just have to link from high profile sites in each of those search categories

      I am not sure the following "link from high profile sites", what kind of site it is, any example?

    Increasing PageRank for any website is pretty much the same across the board. First, you need to identify which keywords you want the site to rank for and then set about generating links with those keywords embedded in the anchor text.

    You can exchange links with similar websites or tech sites as was suggested previously. Posting articles in content directories is a good way to generate one way links. Submit to other directories.

    One thing I do suggest is putting relevant content on the inner pages. Many of the pages only have ads on them and nothing else. The search engines tend to frown on that and may penalize the site. Putting some short relevant articles (300 to 400 words) that are keyword laden may help.

    You need to put some more content on the site and I suggest you add some articles for the keywords that you want to rank for and put them on the bottom of the site at least. Even if you build a ton of backlinks you will have a hard time ranking that site until you get more content on it.
