Comment Spam Attack - Bring the Rain!

Golly - it doesn't take long once the comment spam bots find your 'unprotected' blog.

I deleted 40 spam comments before I went to lunch, came back 1 hour later and have 50 new spam comments.

Wordpress, Catalyst Theme - thought I had Askismet running (better check) - anything else I can do to stop the barrage?

    You may want to try Bad Behaviour as well - I use Akismet and BB together on some sites and BB alone on others, and there's no difference in the spam on sites with either format.

    The best solution is to grind up garlic cloves and sprinkle them inside your computer and the server. ... oh wait that's how to get vampires off your site. Try Bad Behavior plugin for spam comments.

      E. Brian - have you been lurking in the forum where I mentioned my Vampire Romance project? How did you know I where Garlic Cloves around my neck when computing after midnight.

    As mentioned, the WP Spam Free plugin works pretty well. I have a lot less spam comments to deal with since I started using it.
