How to Get Software for Free

I was just running Twidium (Twitter adder software) and I remembered how I got it the software. About 2 or 3 months ago I was browsing for Twitter adder software and Twidium was one of the first programs I found.

I installed the trial version and I really liked it. Then after the 7 day trial it stopped working. So what did I do? Buy it? Screw that! I didn't want to spend money on software that could potentially stop working because of Twitter TOS. So I thought of a better idea.

I contacted Twidium support and told them a little about my background in internet marketing. I offered to make a promotional video for them in exchange for a licensed copy of their software.

They emailed back and agreed, but instead of a promotional video they wanted an instructional video. No problem. I made it and it's still on their homepage TwidiumApp.com.

Anyways the moral of the story is many of us here have skills that are VERY valuable to website owners. Try offering them your services in exchange for something sometime. You may get some cool stuff for free!

    Excellent way to think outside of the box. Actually many companies offer their products for free especially for reviewers. They were killing two birds with one stone asking you to do an instructional video for them instead of hiring someone to do it for them.

      Thanks, absolutely. I was doing them a favor and they were doing me a favor. The software is pretty neat, I think I'm up to 7 or 8 thousand followers now.

      Anyways I try to think outside the box whenever I can. We could all do some awesome things if we thought outside the box more.

    If the economy continues with uncertainty, bartering will certainly become more popular again, like in the 1970's. Great creative thinking.
