What is a good price to have a website built?. I have already looked at a few companies out there.. just want to know what is a good price?

There isn't enough information to give you an answer on this. You need to describe the use of the website, what scripts if any will be involved, how much custom artwork will be needed, do you have all the content or will that need to be created too.

You can probably get a basic Wordpress blog installed for $10 and have a website but you could probably do this for yourself for free too.

Then you if you have a custom script developed to run your site you could pay $25,000 and it might still be a good price.

this will totally depend on your requirements. things like flashy graphics or a complicated backend admin system can change prices a lot.

i suggest you spend some time on odesk or guru.com and see what the average bids are for sites similar to what you are looking for.

you can also use google and put in (anysite.com clone) and you may get some hits on the freelance site where others have requested clones of various sites. i have used this method before.

  Depends on the functionality of the website. If you just want a basic designing, you can have it done real cheap by people from the middle east. Wordpress can be installed for next to nothing. If you have a lot you need done, then its probably best to go with an American company which will probably cost $2000-$3000.

  Yep, totally agree with other comments. What niche? You can get a nice one built out for a 'make money online' niche for less than $100 if you outsource... In fact much less if you want a basic template (wordpress) which looks very good.
  
  Try elance or odesk (google search) and you will find many people who can help.

It's a little like saying how much do I have to spend to buy a car.

Entirely depends if you are buying a 10 year old Toyota or a brand new Ferrari.

If you want to build a professional wordpress blog (with custom theme and graphics) this may cost you... $800-$1500, i think.

  If you will be using a freelancer, ensure you provide the template of exactly what you want to guide him or her.

it depends on what you want. Good 5 pages website can be designed under $200. You can check elance.com for a provider

The price for a premium niche wordpress site with gorgeous design and superb implementation can cost thousands of dollars. However, there are affordable ones out there. You just need to find one that you are comfortable with and offer you the best website creation package.

Your question is to vague to give an answer. How many pages do you want? Do you use opt-in forms? Do you want to customize it yourself too? There are tons of questions to ask before we can give you a good price..
