WSO -Pre-Launch State that can simplify the process of getting in-thread reviews before going live.

Hi there guys and gals,

I'll keep it short:

Problem:
After publishing a WSO and paying $40 for it to goes out without any reviews in the thread and the number of sales is really poor or I even would say no sales at all ( in spite the price of WSO is $7 and the offer is hot). People don't trust you without real reviews in the thread and that's why noone is buying anything unless few reviews are posted, and the problem is - it takes time to get reviews. Or even if you offer some reviews copies, most of the people asking for those are just freebie hunters looking to get stuff for free. That's why it's really hard at the first stage when you launch a WSO and $40 can be screwed up easily.

Possible Solution:
Create WSO pre-launch state when you have already paid for the WSO to bump it but it still doesn't go live unless you decide so (it can be a simple "go live" button that sends a WSO into the WSO section to the top - just the same way it's done automatically right now after the payment is done). And basically it's only needed with the first WSO bump. This way a person planning to launch a WSO can get some live reviews in his/her WSO thread before going live and the sales will stop to flow in immediately.

Conclusion: Everyone has a win-win here, both WF forum and WSO hosts. Another great benefit is the following: people will have much better confidence when launching their WSOs and thus doing business with warrior forum WSO section.

Please let me know if this makes sense and what do you think of it all if it does.

Cheers

Andrew

Note: I've submitted support ticket to WSO pro team with this suggestion but they said they are not part of the Warrior Forum and that I should get in touch with someone from the actual forum. But I haven't found the right section or support ticket type for suggestions and ideas for improvement so decided to start a thread in the main section.

So here is what I expect from your responses:

1. What you think of the actual idea
2. Whom I'd better get in touch with in order to share this suggestion (someone from Warrior Forum team obviously)

Thanks once again!

Great Idea! I know first hand that people like reviews. Once the good ones start coming in, sales spike up. It would be awesome if the sales were spike from day one.

The procedure for asking for reviews was outlined recently - post a request for reviewers in the "wanted" section for $5. You can qualify the reviewers you will accept (by join date or post number, for example) and choose from the applicants. That way you can get reviews before you launch your WSO.

#2. Help Desk - it's right above your posts
But don't put too big hopes into it - it would require a lot of re-coding and most people don't care about having reviews before launching... because smart buyers don't give a s***t about "reviews" by unknown entities.

Real reviews come quickly from real buyers if the product is good.

Smart buyers don't trust unknown wso-sellers and their unknown review friends either.

GREAT IDEA! But I think I have to agree with Istvan, this would require a lot of re-coding, which I'm not sure would happen... but, call me pessimistic!

I don't see how this would help.

If you want reviews, there is a process for that but you can also offer a pre-launch special to your list, to your Skype groups or friends or even in your signature.

Why have the forum have to do all that work to code something in that you can easily do on your own?

Why not use the reviews from your customers who are buying your product outside of the WSO forum?

Or doesn't that apply anymore in the MMO niche. No outside sales, just WSO products only.

This is what I don't get, rule #3 from the WSO rule thread...

      3. A Warrior Special Offer Means The Price You Give Must Be Better Than The Price The Public At Large Can Get. (This is not a "buy my product" forum, it is a "Special Offer" forum)

Is this part obsolete? "This is not a "buy my product" forum, it is a "Special Offer" forum".

      Seems to be.

Well, the reason of this "WSO pre-launch" proposal is not a difficulty to get reviews but a problem of such called "slip" when there are no in thread reviews in your WSO but the reviewers that you've given away review copies to don't seem to bother dropping few lines in your thread, preferring to get your stuff for free and run (there are too many of those in the latter days)

This way you are pretty much wasting your $40, and this can happen again and again...

Have you considered that maybe there's another reason why you aren't making sales?

I haven't looked at your wso, but I'm guessing poor sales could be either because your sales copy doesn't grab people or because you haven't built up enough of a reputation here for people to trust you. No trying to knock you, just making suggestions.

If you offer a refund then people shouldn't need to wait for recommendations, as long as they trust you to honour it.

As someone else pointed out, for $5 you can post in the wanted section and ask for reviewers.
