Interactive United States Map For Your Website

So I've seen maps of the United States on several sites like the one on this site:
SECURITY GUARD TRAINING HEADQUARTERS - Your Center for Security Guard Training

They are great for when you are in a niche of education or training and want to cover every state in a graphically pleasing way.

Now the real questions are:

- Are these custom designed? (I find that hard to believe if it's the case because I've seen several of these on all sorts of sites).

- If they aren't, is this a plugin that can be downloaded (I use wordpress for my sites :0 )

- Any ideas on how useful these are?

    I've made interactive maps from scratch, cutting out all those parts is tedious, I think I would buy ready-made next time.

    Hey Ryan,

    This is my site actually.

    I bought the map on iStockphoto.com for like, $15. It was flash ready, but of course didn't include the proper links.

    So, what I did was hand it off to someone I hired on Odesk.com to add the links to the map. He also added the notes underneath that particular map that pops up when you hover over each state. That cost another $15 to $20 for about 2 hours of hired work.

    Then, I just had my VA embed it on my site. He also added html that shows up in an html / non-flash map incase a user's browser doesn't have flash enabled - and either way it adds the link for SEO purposes, since Google can't crawl through flash anyways.
