Dont get distracted from your BREAKS!!... (what??)

Thats right,

you need to FOCUS on taking breaks, and not getting distracted during your breaks.

Many times I have noticed that when I take my breaks, I am still kind of working inthe background... trying to get smaller tasks done, This made me very lazy and made it tough to get out of "break" mode.

If you plan your breaks carefully, and DO NOT get distracted from them!... then when you come back to work, you will have much more energy and focus for work time.

Truly separate your breaks from your work, never let them blend in.

Since your reading this you are on your break!.... dont have any work in the background, and GET AWAY FROM YOUR COMPUTER for 5 minutes.

When you come back, jump straight back into work, and i promise you will work harder than ever before.

Good luck!
Josh

lol, so I guess by reading this (and being on a break), I am blending my work. I can definitely get distracted throughout the work day, especially during break time. Honestly, I can't wait for lunch, because it seems to be the only time I "break" away from the computer.

Thats exactly what im talking about

you need to FOCUS on taking breaks away from your computer....... only then will you be able to properly separate work from breaks, and you will get so much more done!

I know exactly what you are saying and it's something I need to work on. I need to plan my breaks out as well as my work sessions and during my breaks I've learnt I need to stay away from the computer.

It's funny you mentioned this since I was literally just thinking about it this morning. I've been working since 5 a.m. and needed to take a break, but I keep finding myself back at my desk!

Sometimes we just have to force ourselves to relax and let our brains (and fingertips) recharge.

    Really good tip!

Make sure you work in your work time and take breaks in your break time - I too have found myself in the finishing small bits and pieces off in my break and then just end up working again.

    Hey Drummer, you're absolutely right.
    The brain needs these breaks.
If you push it too far it starts to mess with your mojo.

Actually I'm working. At my age POWER naps are essential. LOL! But I really come back recharged and ready to go.

Even in corporate America the good companies will encourage people to take breaks because they know it helps increase productivity. Unfortunately, they don't let you unplug your phone, lock the door and put on headphones so you can concentrate on your work without being interrupted constantly.
