INTERNET MARKETING

Please suggest wordpress plugins for improving the speed of loading of a wordpress website.And would be great if you can explain how we can measure the speed of the site loading.Suggestions from experienced Wordpress Developers and users are welcome.

The ultimate plugin for this is: WordPress › W3 Total Cache « WordPress Plugins

Also use Google Pagespeed to ascertain the speed of your site. It will also give suggestions as well: Page Speed Home

There is also QuickCache, which I use instead of the others mentioned,
which I have also used.

If you don't know already...only use one cache plugin at a time.

Copy that on Quick Cache but also a little known additional cache plug in is Widget Cache.

Many times our widget area slows down our site and the regular WP cache plugins do not address this.

W3 Total Cache is a good plugin .You will see a better page loading with it .

In order from OK to best

1. WP Super Cache
2. Quick Cache
3. W3 Total Cache

Nothing comes close to W3 Total Cache, but it does have a lot of options and I've found some of my sites have broken when I turned on Minfy.

That said, I did some speed tests and W3 Total Cache comes out on top.

  If your blog is running slowly, rather than add another plugin, you may need to examine the plugins you already have installed.
  
  Many are poorly written, inefficient, resource hogs, creating a slow site and heavy server loads. You could end up receiving a complaint from your service provider because you are hogging too many server resources. There is even a plugin called PluginHogDetector which will help you track down the CPU hogs. No, I'm not recommending you install it!
