Fiverr Question - Add Affiliate Links?

Quick question for the Fiverr experts...Let's say you have a gig and when you deliver it to your customer you add a link to a relvant affiliate program...

For example, let's say you post a gig to write 10 Tweets, then when you deliver the 10 Tweets, there's also a link to a Twitter automation program.

Is this acceptable to Fiverr's TOS and has anyone had success with this strategy?

  • I also would like to know this.

I have 120 ultra-laser targetted buyers on fiverr, but I'm still hesistant to promote an affiliate link on there.

Hopefully somebody can clear this up for us.

OK, I have used this strategy and I have not been kicked out so far - anyway.

FIVerr does frown on you giving people your telephone number or email. That is because they fear you will not go thru them anymore. I have been warn once. I believe they kick you out on the third time, but not sure. I like to give my phone to consumers. That way they can contact me.

Here is how I do it. Create a new samples page. Put samples of your work and link your gigs to your samples page. OK once users go to your website they can find your phone number easy. Also post pics of you. That makes it more one on one.

Please remember that you can post your gigs on your web page. This is easy. FIVerr gives you all the HTML code that is necessary. Also, fiver now had multi gig jobs that pay over five dollars now. This is a big help for all of us.

IMPORTANT: Do not give users your Tel# or e-mail as you can get kicked out of the program!

But you can say, here's the stuff you ordered and here's a link to buy something good:

      ...Is this correct?

Interesting topic as I do have a few gigs myself!

Just thinking out loud, since we can attach the document, can we not include the said affiliate link as part of the document (e.g. MS Word etc...) as a by-the-way kind of thing?

I don't do anything with Fiverr myself (except as a buyer), but this is exactly what I was thinking.

It's a good idea if it's allowed. It would take a bit of the sting out of the low pay.

    • Anybody know if this is actually against there TOS?

I mean once you complete an order, is it ok to leave an affiliate link at the bottom?

You certainly getting a huge r risk of getting kicked out of fiverr.

They are aware of such affiliated links, fiverr is taking those seriously.

If you want to promote your website where you do sell more. You can always add it in your profile (About you area).

  • People do add affiliate links sometimes to their gig deliverables -- but the deliverable shouldn't be the affiliate link. Does that make sense?

You won't be able to add an aff link to your gig description, though, if that's what you're referring to.

It's really best to be honest and forthright about what you're doing. For example, there are sellers who will set up a blog or site for you but you have to sign up for hosting through their affiliate link. They state this in the description so the buyer knows the deal going in.

That's an interesting idea. Since I offer BMR writing for one of my gigs, the buyer needs to know my email so that they can set me up as a writer on their account. I usually try to send instructions through an attachment. However, I've never considered adding an affiliate link for a related product.

I've tested this and pushed the limits hard on a number of fronts, and my take is this:

      1) Don't bother asking Fiverr if you can do it or not, they will give you the most run around non-answer you can imagine. I don't know why they can't just say no. I've tried to force a yes or no on a number of things, they just won't do it. I'm guessing the support people (person?) isn't allowed to speak about policy.

      2) I've had no problem putting a link to samples in the gig description.

      3) I've had mixed success with putting a link to my website in my delivery notice. I haven't had any problem at all providing a generic link to my website, from which a smart customer can figure out how to contact you.

      4) An affiliate link or a link to a product on your website will get the gig shut down if it comes to their attention or they bother to check it when you put the gig up. You might get away with it, you might not. If you like your account, I wouldn't do it.

      5) It is 100% ok to deliver your gig, say an ebook, that is stuffed full and overflowing with all the affiliate links you want to offer. You can also include any contact info you want in there. PDF is the best choice for this.

I wonder if you could do a gig... "I will sell you my phone number and email address for $5"? I can't see why not as long as you deliver it via PDF or video and don't type it into their system. I think another test is in order.

Done... did - "I will sell you my email address so you can spam me forever for $5" - Didn't want to take phone calls forever.

I'll report back if it passes the mods or not. People advertise for Skype chats all the time, even though TOS says you can't give your skype address, figure me out that one...

All in all, they don't want business being taken of-site, hence the email posting warnings etc.

External links fall under the same umbrella.
