It is better to use a common name because it is easier for you and your buyers to remember it.

It depends upon what your objective is for that
    particular e-mail address.

If you want to use it to build relationships and get
people to actually buy from you then use your own
    name (firstname and lastname).

People buy from people after all - not annonymous
    handles like true900.

I'd use my own name at the main domain because it's
more personal and there's just me replying.

It depends upon the size of the company though and
whether or not there's one person or a group of people
at the company who could respond to e-mails received
        at that e-mail address.

Yes, use your real identity to give an impression of legitimacy.

However, there are also times when you have to promote your brand by
    making it your email addy.

There are times when you hand out an email address that you want clients to
easily recall. Here it is advisable to use an address containing your product or brand.
    (branding/marketing purposes).

    Thanks!

    Mary

If you use admin@domain.com on your websites, it'll make you and your site look more established... if that is what you are trying to achieve.

As long as it's unique. Don't pick names like "Skaterkid54646".

    Heyy,

Definitely go for the firstname.lastname@gmail.com - as many have said, just to come across as a legitimate merchant.

As for the admin@domain.com - depending on how your going to use it, this is a good option too, for things like business cards and contact pages, ect!

So have both... but your main one will obviously be the admin@domain.com - if given the choice

    Hope this helps,

    Colin

Even though I think the firstname.lastname has a more professional sound, you can always make do with a random one also as long as you can relate to it, and also it doesn't sound abusive in any manner.

Go for firstname.lastname@mail.com. It builds trustfulness which is the core in any business model. Also, @mail.com (it's free) looks more professional than @gmail.com.

If you are doing it for a client then for the clients domain name, if it is for your own purposes then use a generic one that can work with everyone.
