Where's Your Passion?

I just read a great post from Gonzo who is a trucker. He says he's brand new to Internet Marketing and knows very little. And yet, his new wordpress site has had 500+ vistors in the first week. His website? It's about trucking!

Now the point of this thread is... we all have something in our life that we are passionate about. So why aren't we using that passion and monetizing it? Too many times we get caught up in what's hot right now... and therefor, jump on the band wagon... But if it's just about making money... the lack of enthusiasm comes through in your end result.

I promise you... if you are passionate about something... there is sure to be others. Find it... build on it... and enjoy your internet marketing experience!

Thanks for attaching that... couldn't have said it better myself! Seriously, there are lots of new guys on this forum and I believe we owe them a little guidance to get started right. Hopefully others will lend their advice on this as well!

At this time, I'm still new to internet marketing. From all the research I've done and from being a business owner, I know that if I got into marketing something I didn't care about, I couldn't sell it effectively.

Make sure you target the right audience and you know what you are doing. If it interests you then it might do the same to people out there who share the same interests. This is one of the basics that do what you like and even the most difficult tasks become a breeze.

Another point on that one is write conversationally like you would to your friends. It feels more folksy and people like sharing a conversation, not just being talked to. The more people connect with you and your passions... the more it will be passed around and before you know it... you'll have a true following of friends in a similar passion.

I know what my passions are. I just have to figure out how to monetize beer drinking and spending time with beautiful ladies.

I think the tv series IRC (Ice Road Trucking) has brought a lot of awareness and interest to trucking. I wonder if this has influenced traffic to Gonzo's site.

Find something you are passionate about, and also make sure that it is profitable. No use doing something you love but no one wants it. The best niche is one that is at the intersection of your passion, your skill and profitability.
