Question for experienced marketers:

What's converting better for you on your opt-in pages... free video or free PDF?

Thanks.

Depends on your target market, if you're target market is older 35+ then go for PDF. If it's younger 34- go for video.

If it's both you may want to target the two on different squeeze pages with different campaigns.

I agree with you 100%. It totally depends on your market.

I would offer both if possible. There are tons of people who really prefer one or the other. Often I see in the WSO section folks asking if the media is pdf or video. Some just hate watching videos and others feel they absorb more through videos.

Depends on the type of information. Does it have a visual aspect that's best communicated by a video? Does an audio element enhance the information?

I used to love watching videos then realized that it's easier to skim through PDF, so I always offer both.

It also depends on the market, i have a website with technical step by step video tutorial, video is the best for this market but i once had a request for a PDF which shocked me.

If you can, then do both.
Listen to Dee Odus. I agree to this suggestion. It is more effective if you do both. You are reaching all ages if you do this one.

I'm gonna jump in on the "both" bandwagon...

I tend to like to do a video with a PDF supplement.

Basically the video is for the people that want to watch every little thing, and the PDF is for the people that just need the info now and want to take action right away (or as a refresher for those that watched the video and don't want to sit through it again).

Yup, it's better if you could do both so you'd cover both market who'd prefer either of the two.

  • I would suggest both! The way I do it is I create a Power Point Presentation usually about 10 slides or so. to present the product I am promoting. From that it's a piece of cake!

    STEP BY STEP :

1.) Use camptasia or other software to turn your powerpoint into a video w audio.
2.) Don't have the time or the software? Get on Fiverr and many people on there will do it for $5! Sweet! (also best option if you have a heavy accent)
3.) Turn the Power Point into a PDF ( There is an Option to do that on the versions from 2007 & up)
4.) Sign up to like 15- 20 Document Sharing websites & either upload your PDF yourself or hire someone on fiverr to do it.
5.) Distribute your video as normal, and ENJOY!!

This might be totally out of topic...

But, I've split tested a couple Sales Pages and the Video usually always converts better than the text version!

...like, I said this might be totally irrelevant - but, I hope it helped - LOL!
