Scammed by internet marketing company

Hi I have paid an internet marketing company in Inida 400 dollars to do seo marketing on my website and they have done very little in a the past 3-4 days. They charged me 500 in total. They told me that they would not start marketing until they received the full amount but would set up all of the channels first. So there is still a balance of 100 dollars to be paid to them. I have ask them to re-design my twitter and youtube page and they made a balls of it. The design i had done looked alot better so i ask them to change it back and they didn't bother to. I have sent them serveral email and tried to contact via phone and skype but they aren't answering me. I have done absolutely nothing wrong and have been very fair to these guys at the beginning. I feel i have been robbed now and i have requested my money back via paypal.

What you suggest i should do. I feel that they will not give me my money back now.

    The other thing that you might want to do if you went through a service, such as Guru, Scriptlance, Odesk, etc. is to let people know about your experience with the company. I had a similar challenge a few years ago with an outsourcing company and they would not finish my work after I paid them until I gave them a good comment.

    If they are not holding up their end of the bargain I suggest you let others know, so they do not fall prey to these people.

    Hey,

    NEVER WORK with Outsourcing Companies...

    There are so many who think they can run an Outsourcing Company - hundred's have sprung up from India and promise you they can do everything! But, its not worth the headache or the time... trust me, I've been there and done that and got the T-Shirt with the shorts.

    I now spend most my time working with single Outsourced independent Contractors that I screen throughly to make sure their suitable for the position that I am looking for and I wouldn't take anyone on unless I thought they were absolutely the best for my business.

    If your really paranoid about them messing up - as you probably will be after this experience then you could even ask for a trial period where you test them for their skills to see if they're suitable.

    If you don't mind me asking - where did you find that Outsourcing Company - that way we can all look out for them and save someone from the stress in the future?

    You shouldn't pay upfront if you are working with a person/company for the first time unless they are proven to be delivering. And I think this is a lesson you will never forget.

    Thats a shame that you have had such disapointing results and a bosh job on your sites.
    I hope that you will be able to recoup the money on Paypal.

    I recommend odesk for outsourcing as you can get full updates by screenshots from the freelancers and can see what they are working on and pay them by the hour. You can easily dispute if they are not doing as they are supposed to.

    Yeah - my first experience with outsourcing resulted in the work being delivered on time but of quite low quality, even from fellow warriors. I agree getting a personal recommendation from a trusted source or thoroughly vetting a company before committing any monies would be ideal, but that can be difficult and/or time consuming. Can you share the name of the company with us?

    Thanks for sharing your experience, it could happen to anyone and I applaud you for not hiding the issue. Many folk dont like to show where they made a error in judgement. Sorry for your loss but I think you will come out on top in the end with Pay Pal.

    I don't mean to be racist here but I had my marketing manager role taken from me and was made redundant after my division was outsourced to India.
    I have seen first hand how badly they can perform. I have experienced it countless times myself and would NEVER outsource anything there.
    If you want to find places to outsource to, check out vworker.
    I have done a lot of work for them and found the site to be great. The employers are great and you can easily vet the employees.

    Call me confused but I need a little perspective here...

    You think they robbed you because they haven't done much
    marketing yet... but you said they told you up front they wouldn't
    until they were paid in full... and there is still a $100 balance due.

    You think they robbed you because they redesigned your Twitter
    and You Tube pages in a manner that doesn't appeal to your tastes
    but you didn't mention that you had given them any specific guidance
    or direction on how you wanted it done.

    I'm looking for the robbed part but not seeing it. Based on the info
    you provided I wouldn't count on Pay Pal handling it for you.

    A PayPal chargeback and a learned lesson. Research companies before you use them. If one company costs a little more than another, theres usually a good reason for that.
