VPS Hosting ? who is using it ?

hi warriors,

I currently need to move one of my website to VPS server, I had it on shared server, but the load time according to Alexa is 72 slower than other websites.

I would like to ask warrior with experience ? what VPS are you using (in case you are), do you consider your VPS expensive ? cheap ? fast enough ?

I tried to compare plans on review websites, it seems (I am not sure hostgator is the cheapest) at least that what I came too.

I would stayed with my current hosting but they don't provide any VPS services, and I certainly can't afford dedicated at the time .

      I have had a VPS with hostgator for a while and have great success with them. I am not sure how they compare price wise with the other though. But their support is awesome.

  • honestly, I start to get confused feeling about hostgator, i was tending to move to them when i started this threat (seemed the best), but once I checked the forum, they sounds bad. and their prices not worth the cost after level5.

    Two years ago, I opened account with them but closed it as i didn't need it and at some how they seemed complicated to me.

    I cancelled the account, I wanted to sign up for their VPS, I couldn't. When I contacted their customer service they told me sign in --> choose a package and we will give the discount.

    Once I did and went back to them they told me sorry for new members only !!! We can't give you this offer.

    They don't feel much of trustworthy to me.

    • I use and recommend VPS from LiquidWeb:

      Liquid Web | Dedicated Server, Managed Dedicated Servers, Web Hosting (no affil.)

      I moved from HostGator reseller hosting to LiquidWeb
      a while back and I've never regretted it. The support
      I've receive from LiquidWeb is first class and streets
      ahead of HostGator.

      Also, remember that HostGator are not specialists in
      VPS hosting and only started offering that service from
      2009 I think.

    • I understand how that would make you feel.

      Not sure if their support has improved since then but so far I have had nothing but a great experience with them. I have a number of shared hosting accounts in addition to the VPS and have had only good experiences (knock on a picture of wood).
  • Im with hostgator as well and there support is top notch
    Id recommend them over anyone Ive dealt with
