Is PLR still good?

I think its still there but obviously its not as hot as before.

Thanks. Quality I've got in abundance. I was thinking of taking the articles and turning them into an ebook instead. I really kicked butt on the subject matter as I was in on the ground floor of it and was one of the first to propose it. Then a few years ago it blew up so I wrote big articles about it. I'll need to go and study up on PLR nowadays and work out something for a WSO.

I think if you limit the amount of packs sold, it could work well.

Since the Panda update things have changed a bit.

Well since I just made over $10,000 in 48 hours on my PLR WSO I'd say the market's there and it's hot.

Just my $0.02 though.

lol run a wso that overdelivers - lots of content for a cheap price on a hot topic or multiple topics.

Can't sit there and run a 10 pack for $10 on cat food bowls and expect to make it big

PLR's still a very good WSO market, but as with the comments earlier, reports are much hotter than articles.

Now, creating a report, and then adding a section of ready produced articles to go with it is an excellent model.

You can also go after Tiffany Dow's share of the market, but you need years of committment and a willingness to turn out a couple of sets of articles a week on a hot market topic to get there.

The WSO route is much easier.

I'm very new to the world of PLR but I can tell you that two of my top selling PLR products are still selling and started as WSO's.

Tiff is correct, articles on something blah are not going to sell. Likewise, some niches that you know are hot, and well searched for, may not be the ones PLR buyers are purchasing, yet!

But that's cool, because PLR can be put on a site and stay there for purchase, when and if the topic becomes hot in the PLR buying market.

The only thing I would say is, if you're writing about a 'constant change' topic like social media, you need to be sure you keep content updated. No one wants to purchase PLR about how to use Friendster circa 2003

I'm a PLR gypsy - meaning, I put in what I would like to buy if I was a PLR buyer. My library is tiny compared to Tiff's but what I'm doing at the moment for wso's is:

- a report (4000+ words)
- 5 articles
- cover - editable
- Powerpoint/camtasia vids with all source files.

That's basically it - maybe a few exceptions with bonuses.

I've experimented with other ways but this is the best formula for me and certain niches.

I've recently experimented with just articles (not as wso's but just in general) Yes, the pack is selling, but there is not a huge stampede.

Oh, and as for Tiff making bank in 24hrs hehe - yeah she knows how to rock it. And I have learnt a lot from her blogs; so much so that PayPal recently asked me for more proof of who I am and my business, because I'd almost hit the limit of what could go into my account according to their Money Laundering directive. No dig at them at all - they're just doing their job, and it kind of shows my PP isn't dormant.

As PLR is not my main source of income, and I don't promote like Tiff does, you can well see the possibility if you wanted to make it part-time or full time.

With the right niche and good chunky content - the wso forum is a good place to start.

Well the main reason I'm behind the curve on PLR is because my main job is writing and drawing comics/animation. Believe it or not I'm now finishing the latest Justin Bieber comic book. Next is back to superheroes and some of my comics that get picked up for movie development.

Writing articles and article marketing is fun for me as it keeps my skills up and I get to pocket some money. Instead of grinding away I would rather work out a system that pays more and gives me more free time. I tried PLR almost a year ago and it was okay but I altered a formula and I need to go back and try it again. So I'm asking if it's still a valued product.

Of course topic is important so I've no problem with that.

PLR of all sorts is still a hot seller - articles YES, eBooks, reports, email autoresponders, blog posts, product reviews.

The key is to build up a good stock. You can't make money with one puny pack on your site.

That's why the WSO did so well - I had $1 per pack and I have over 200 packs - people were placing $250 orders, etc.

Then again, you CAN do well with one topic alone. For example:

I ran a WordPress PLR WSO. I sold it for $15. I sold 89 packs and made $1,335. I only discounted $4 - the public bought it for $19 on my store site.

These were articles, FYI.

As for Panda talk - I interact w/my PLR buyers a LOT and they really don't mostly use them as is. Most hardcore buyers alter and use it as a springboard.

Plus, you can't forget that not all PLR is Panda-vulnerable. Email autoresponders, viral reports, products you sell - not affected by SEO at all.

As evidenced by Tiffany, PLR is still hot. As long as content is needed online, I don't see a reason for PLR sales to greatly reduce. It's a great way to get new content for an affordable price without having to sit down, research a topic, and write your own articles. It is a good idea to repurpose/edit the content to make it your own, but that can quickly be done or outsourced.

Also, I want to mention that Tiffany did make $10K but not just from PLR. She ran the special in a way that provided an immense amount of value and helped a ton of people. That's the key to being successful no matter what you are selling, PLR or otherwise.

With all that content do you write it all yourselves or have an army of writers? I'll check out your products to see how you two do it.

I just ran my frist PLR WSO and its down well so far. I'm excited about the potential.

Had a chat with several clients I write for and they confess that they make awesome money from the articles I've written for them. PLR of course!

I was resistant to do more PLR as the sites to promote the products were too rigged. It can cost a good penny just to post about your product and then you have to go through hoops to keep the product in the public eye. I can see why a website or blog featuring your PLR products is far more essential to profit and expansion. What I'll have to do is put together another PLR pack. I've got 25 articles on a hot niche that are 500 words each ready to go. Then work with purchasers to buy more packs as I produce them. That should get me rolling.

PLR like most things can bring big profits if you do it the right way. You've got some excellent examples in these comments of people doing just that. There's lots of bad PLR out there so if you can create a product that uses valuable PLR you'll be miles ahead.

I'm in the process of stocking my PLR store now. I've yet to officially launch it, but have somehow managed to attract a few sales anyway. In following Tiffany's success, yes, it appears that a market is still there and will be there as long as people need affordable content.

I agree, I'm going over my PLR notes now and seeing what I should be doing. Actually I realized if I sold PLR packs to just my clients alone I'd be rich! I'm lucky I work with news and entertainment websites that get insane hits each month but none are IM structured. Any one of these could be a monster for IM products.

I'm an illustrator and am working for a company that does comic books based on celebrities. Right now we're leading the comic book pack beating out titles like X Men and Spiderman. We get insane press and links from the web. Even got listed on Drudgereport for the past few days. Found out that now Rush Limbaugh wants a comic based on him and yours truly might end up drawing it. That's a boost of popularity and potential marketing exposure.

I need to set up a more comprehensive site for writing and IM which I'll do soon. I have been so swamped with work I hadn't paid attention to PLR like I should have and now reading these responses I can see how I've been missing out.

I'm with the others in saying that quality PLR will never run out of style. Those that buy PLR know how to use it so that the Panda's do not affect them.

PLR is simply the cheapest form of outsourcing there is and once buyers find a content provider who consistently gives them quality products they stick with them.

Being a PLR provider with a following like Tiffany also allows you to give people ideas for their next campaign - they know that you have the content that they need, all they have to do is set their site up - perfect!

RACH72 I believe you. I'm going over my old PLR tutorials and updating the info. I'll have another launch soon. Then just keep dishing them out.

I can also attest to PLR still selling well. I also personally still buy it regularly. lol

But, it takes more than just an advertisement once a week on the Warrior Forum to make consistent sales (IMHO). People who continue to sell (anything really, not just PLR) usually build a repeat customer base over time. Like Tiffany said, you can't expect miracles with one PLR pack, especially if it's your first time selling PLR.

Once you build a customer base of people who use your PLR to profit, then they will keep coming back over and over again.

I'm going to start lite though. A couple of smaller yet powerful PLR packages to get the ball rolling. How much is too much and how much is too less? Normally I'll see people doing a WSO of 5 packs of 10 articles How about just one pack of like 25 if they're the same topic? Limit purchases to like 20-50 people?
