Missing ClickBank Hops Last Few Days?

Hi,

I was just checking thought my affiliate stats and noticed something quite odd with my clickbank stats, I average around 50 hops per day and I have been doing this for many months.

Today I noticed 0 Hops for the past few days, is this just a delay in the analytics or is something seriously wrong?

I've checked a few of my affiliates links and they all seem to be working normally, my websites are all running normally with same traffic levels.

I know the data would not normally update and show for today, but I'm still missing two days of hops.

Confused! Can you shed any light onto this?

Thanks
Lee

I have seen this complaint many times. Many have poo pooed it, but it happens often. Some have cured it by changing their ID and their affiliate link.

Personally I have shied away from promoting Clickbank because of this and the vendor stealing the traffic with opt ins. I was just thinking about giving it a try, until I read your post.

Sorry but I don't really have any answers for you. Good luck.

You'd be a fool not giving it a try just based on this thread. Sales are still being tracked, isn't that the main thing? And you are wrong about vendors stealing traffic with opt ins. They can actually be a good thing for the affiliate if the cookie is not overwritten, the more opportunities the vendor contacts the potential buyer on your behalf to make the sale can only be a good thing. You just have to make sure the vendor is not doing anything shady to steal your commissions, but for the most part though they are not.

Ultimately it all comes down to "is it profitable".

If it is keep it and work on it. If not figure out if you should work on it or dump it.

It does help to figure out why something weird is happening though. Guaranteed to happen to you at least once if you stay in this industry long enough.

Definitely something going on the last few days. Would be nice to know what exactly is going on, from somebody who really knows. Perhaps I'll have to check some other threads to see if anyone had any real light to shed on the issue rather than just guesses.

One thread did say that Clickbank was apparently doing some type of server upgrade this weekend though I only saw that in a WF post and not anywhere "official" or anything so I'm still unsure.

Thought it was just me. I use 7search for ppc traffic and link directly to offer. 9/8 I had 27 hops showing up in 1 hour and then 0 until last night when i paused the campaign. I have paid for 167 clicks. Not happy. Sent a detailed email to clickbank early this AM. Waiting on a response. Its hard enough doing this without this crap.

I noticed exactly the same in my Clickbank analtyics - but I am still getting sales, so everything seems to be working ok, just the analytics are not being updated. There is always a bit of a delay, so my guess is that it is just a slight glitch in the reporting that will soon be sorted out. As long as the sales keep coming in I'm not too worried :-)

        Cheers, that's nice to know.

So, you are seeing sales being reported in your affiliate account but it's just the more detailed analytics that are not showing up?

Yes, that's exactly right. In the detailed analytics, no hops or sales are showing, but in the My Account page and the Transactions Search page the sales are there.

I think you'd be even more frustrated if you were not getting any sales, too, right.

It's frustrating, yeah, but at least the sales are still being registered, and that's what counts the most in the end...

Are the sales still being generated from today's traffic? You might have set the cookie and the person may have come back to the page a few days later to make the sale and you'd still get the credit.

Hops dropped to zero for yesterday - very weird. I still made a few sales but less than normal.

I track affiliate links on my blogs and there is a discrepancy - I've had people click the affiliate link and nothing shows up.

Sadly this problem comes up and then goes away.

I'm thinking that as long as the cookie is set we're fine. I can see that my affiliate id shows up at the bottom of the order page.

    Bleah.

Add me to the list of affiliates that has seen 0 hops in 3 days. I hope this alleged upgrade solves the problem once and for all. Its just so hard to track how promotions are going when stats are so volatile.

Here's a weird one I just cant find the answers to - I made a sale a couple of days ago and nothing is showing in analytics (clickbank) about the sale - Order form submits "0", account home page sale (1 green bar)!

I've seen this happen a couple of times in the past. Sales etc are not affected but the analytics show nothing. It'll be back to normal soon. It's annoying how there's no message at login that this is going on.

It is possible you're being shaved by the product owner also, or even a glitch in Clickbanks tracking (that your traffic is disappearing, no sales).

For example I started promoting a new CB product a couple weeks ago. While in the test phase I was getting about 3-4 sales a day like clock work.

Then last week my sales dropped like a rock all the sudden and the product owner ramped up his ads trying to run me off (we had competing ads).

Its relatively easy for the owner to take some sales in CB. May not be it but its definitely possible. Don't rule it out. I've had it happen to me many times this year (couple affiliate networks too),

Glad I'm not the only one here. Noticed the EXACT same thing on my account. I tested all of my hops and all has been well. Since I'm just ramping up production on some sites with CB products, my sales aren't very consistent currently, so it's good to see others still making sales without issue.

I've e-mailed CB about this, but I'm sure I'm standing in line with the rest of you. I'm sure they will figure out what's up soon enough.

Using tracking programmes such as statcounter, can give you a heads up on what your visitors are doing - It will show you where the click came from, and any links clicked (exit link). I generally try to match things up from there. If the programme shows, lets just say, 10 clicks on clickbank product, then through clickbank analytics this should show the same number of clicks.
      Cheers, Pierro

I thought I was seeing no problems at all in analytics, but it turns out that's because I have the page bookmarked with my favorite settings (affiliate view, today, by tracking ID, no chart). I see correct stats in the grid.

Turns out if I turn the chart on, the chart doesn't show hops for the last few days even they they're in the grid below. And if I switch to "By Vendor" the grid becomes empty, but "By Customer Country" shows data in the grid.

So those of you who are seeing nothing try switching to By Tracking ID or By Customer Country, and try turning the chart off. See if you see hops & sales listed then.

I have exactly the same. I have tested my links to the order page and know that they work to that point. I know that i deff should have 100+ hops from my current PPC campaign and 4 order form impressions from myself over the weekend and today.

I have emailed CB but don't expect a swift reply. Have paused all my paid CB ads for now until it's resloved.

Yes sometimes it is Clickbank that is delayed, it will tell you on the Analytics screen on the left hand side.

Or it could be that your listings have dropped....

I happened to be trying to log into my clickbank account at about the same time this problem started and could not because they were doing server "maintenance". Two days later I saw my hops flatlined like everyone else's.

I was still seeing sales but I did a number of tests to see if my affiliate link showed up on the clickbank order page and it did. I even tested to be sure a cookie was being dropped if the customer went to a sales page and then returned later to buy directly through the vendor site. It all tested ok with the exception of no hops recorded.

So I agree with the people that feel that you should not worry too much about losing sales but it would be nice if clickbank posted something on their logon page informing everyone about the problem. I'd be very surprised if no one there knew this was happening.

I'm on the list as well. I have showed zero hops, down from an expected 30 per day, since late Thursday afternoon. I also sent CB an email on Friday, but as yet have heard nothing back. Must be a systemic problem. I only expect CB sales on average every few days, and have not gotten one since early Friday morning, so I can't really tell if I'm being affected in that regard yet.

Snap. Though between the mighty warriors sharing we were pretty sure of this already but great to see it confirmed by the Clickbank team.

My hop statistics and order form impressions look normal, however since Sep 11 no more sales are reported, despite having constant daily sales for a couple of months now.
