Can't do Amazon, whats the next best?

I live in NC and therefor I can't do the Amazon affiliate program.

I'm looking to start off doing a review site to get my feet wet with this AM and SEO. Would overstock.com be a better option? I'm looking at some tech stuff and TigerDirect says it pays up to 10%. NewEgg on the other hand pays out only 2.5%.

Also on the topic of Amazon, I've heard if I set up a Delaware LLC I will be able to get around it. Anyone had this issue?

I, too, am from NC. In addition to being dropped from Amazon, I got dropped from Linkshare where I was promoting physical products, too. I'm not sure we can promote physical products at all--outside of Pay-Per-Lead programs that pay a flat rate rather than a percentage (like with a dating site, which I still occasionally get payments from -- even though I'm not actively promoting it anymore, though. Also, I think you can get around this with an LLC because I've heard you can set them up for diff. states and stuff.

Since I got dropped from Amazon and stuff, I started a blog promoting digital-info products on Clickbank (recommend Unstoppable Affiliate for training in this) -- not bad as long as you find quality products and other independent affiliate networks that pay via Paypal. Another alternative is to open your own PLR store where you write (or have written content outsourced) on various topics based on the kind of PLR people are looking for in the search engines. There are other ways to make money from it, too. The income is residual like with a niche blog, you can work around your own schedule, and there's also the added benefit of being paid via Paypal. I hope this helps some.

    Good luck,
    Joey

There are many options for you to choose from if you cannot promote Amazon products.

      Take a look at the

      Google Affiliate Network
      Commission Junction
      Barnes & Noble
      Walmart
      ShareaSale

Each of these manage Affiliate programs for hundreds of physical product venders and the majority are not affected by the nexus law and you can sell there products and receive commissions.

Check them out you will be surprised some even pay way more than Amazon

      Kickin it on Amazon

Yes check out Gaz's post above for other affiliate networks OR actually ring up some of the main websites for the product and ask for an affiliate program.

This works really well and the good thing is that going the extra mile like this you can actually get better commission rates.

I think the problem is going to be that I live in NC and cant sell physical products online. I wasn't aware of this. This may deter me from getting started if I will have to set up my own LLC (which is over $100) and I really want to get my feet wet before I start dumping my money on this. Can anyone confirm that I can't sell physical products in NC? Are digital products OK?

You can sell Physical products in NC you just cant do it via Amazon.com but you could do it for all the other networks who DO PAY sales tax in NC such as Walmart for example or Barnes and Noble.

Take a look at the list i provided and check out some of those networks and sign up for a few and you will soon find out that with the exception of Amazon many merchants are gagging to have you as an affiliate and to sell there physical products.

To answer you other question DIGITAL products are not affected in anyway and you can sell them in any state in the US

You can do Amazon - you could do it via Squidoo - look for a wso on amazon on squidoo if you dont know what I mean. If you are new to IM it doesnt matter that Squidoo share the commission you earn as you would probably earn a similar level to what you would earn on your own for a while anyway.

There are many ways to skin the Amazon cat so to speak -you just have to think outside the box a little and no I dont mean do anything illegal.

You can do Viglink, PM me if you'd like to see an example site running it... Viglink takes 25% but they are always at the highest Amazon payout tier.
