Get more milage from your Fiverr Gig!

This is a marketplace and we all want the best results possible at the lowest price. Here is something that I have done and it has worked very well.

THIS IS FOR BUYERS - NOT PROVIDERS

Remember - if you are a provider - it is hard to get noticed on Fiverr. Even if you were giving away real gold bricks for $5 a piece - if it's a new gig - you are so low in the results that those gold bars would be sitting on your desk for a loooooog time!

When you are searching for a gig - not as the provider - as the buyer - try this.

Instead of just using established gigs - use a new provider (the reason will become clear in a moment.) Go to the last pages of results and choose someone with no orders yet. Send them a PM and tell them that you want to order their gig - but they have no feedback yet. Make them an offer they can't refuse!

Example - someone is offering 8,000 back-links (or whatever) - send them a message like this - "I see you are offering XYZ service - however you have no feedback yet and that is keeping you from getting business. I have a win-win situation for you. I will order your gig and give you FANTASTIC feedback (give them the exact FANTASTIC feedback you will give after the gig) if you provide me 30,000 back-links (or whatever.) That way you will have a thumbs up and a great review from your first customer." In my experience, this works a lot!

If they accept - you risk $5. You can always dispute it.

That way you get their gig X2 or 3 or 4 for $5 and they get great feedback. It's a win-win situation.

Although it is a good tip for buyers, however, i hope no seller of backlinks pass by your post

I think some of them already feel abused by earning few bucks, and you still want to get their service cheaper

Honestly, when it come to backlinks, I would advice you to buy from the one with experience and good feedbacks specially with quantities. Newbie can affect you negatively.

    • Sadly, you don't have nearly as much leverage as you think.

Anyone with half a brain (and few scruples) will realize they can get a friend to buy their gig multiple times to leave feedback -- and each will cost them a little over $1.00 net.

Which, for an investment of several hundred dollars, is probably how some people get to top rated/featured status so quickly.

On one hand, we have a tried and true business technique - bargaining and negotiation.

On the other, we have a bit of a gamble.

I'd be wary of providing the feedback promised in advance, since there is no evidence that the person would earn it. Not that they wouldn't provide the service, but that their service may not warrant glowing praise. Yet, if you honor your word, you are obligated to provide that glowing praise.

In my opinion, a tactic like this is better reserved for something you have some control over, such as article or video creation, graphic work, etc. Even then, I'd add a caveat that the work has to be worthy of high praise.

One big advantage of this approach would be discovering new talent. I've not used Fiverr, personally. But I would wager that it works in a similar way to other service marketplaces in that the established providers are often booked in advance and as busy as they want to be. Finding the next up and comer is a win-win.

    Interesting idea.

What if YOU are a new provider? How do you get noticed?
