getting revenue from a website

lets say you have a website that contains good free information for people to use.
the website gets about 1000 visits a day.

how do you think a person would get revenue from advertising.
do they have to approach a website owner? how is it done?

is 1000 visit a day good enough to make them consider.
what do you think on this topic?

    It depends on the visitors to your website. If they are targeted to a specific niche, then 1000 per day might be enough to get some advertising accounts. Just go and approach potential advertisers who would benefit form reaching your visitors.

    If they are not targeted and just general traffic, I would stick with an ad network or adsense until you get a little bigger...

    Provide "Media Kit" available for download on your website for prospective advertisers.

    In addition, Look at the plethora of Ads Management scripts you can use for prospective advertisers to inquire ad space, buy, and manage their ads-->PHP Ad Management Script and Programs :: Hot Scripts

    That said, it can be done automatically using those Ads Management scripts.

    Hi John,

    Nice to meet you and I am John too.

    I have great advertisers who I charged a few thousands a month just to ad in my blog.

    The sequence is like that:
    1. The advertiser sees your site and is interested
    2. email you
    3. you can work out a proposal with them.
    4. remember to give them good value and always be prepared to be flexible to entice them to put ad in your blog.

    5. once other advertisers see ads in your blog, they will be curious or even not want to lose out.
    6. they contact you and repeat step 3
