My Twitter results for the last week

I see a lot of questions about twitter traffic and if its worth using it.
I decided to post my Twitter results for the last week.
I have 2059 real followers.
It took me months of following targets twitter users to build my list to this size.
I use an rss feed to auto post from my site to twitter.
In the last week I received around 250 visitors from twitter.
Obviously all niches will perform differently.
It would take me many more months of working on my Twitter account to get to what i feel would be a good number. 1000 visits per week.
Because it has been so time consuming and the results have not been that great I have decided to focus my time and energy on Facebook.
I feel that in my niche Twitter is just not worth the effort.
That being said if you dont have money to pay for traffic and you dont know how to get traffic from search engines it is a good secondary source of traffic with Facebook being the primary

I think it is a good idea to use many different social sites. If you just concentrate on one, it might not be worth it but if you market across several social sites the results and traffic will be much better.

Here, since you've created the thread (AND you're a war room member so according to some people this thread should get a lot of recognition and clicks, hahaha) I will post a before and current screen shot of a client's account.

I will have to blur out the name and stuff, but I assure you it is a real client's account.

I will even take the current screen shot with warrior forum in an open tab.

    Before I got his account:

Current (you can see this thread open in the other tab, lol so yeah its as of right now):

He said he was bringing in a 60% opt-in rate with my campaign until he got suspended. I tried to warn him not to increase the daily following since we had everything else running, but he insisted I raise it up.

So needless to say he got it suspended, took 2 weeks to get it back and that spooked him. LOL But yeah man, just DO NOT go overboard on your campaigns.. Just because the tools CAN spam doesn't mean you should.

You just follow people that are following a competitor's account, unfollow the ones who didnt follow back, or even the ones that did (like he wanted) and make sure you don't over-promote with your @mentions/direct messages, and make sure that the "normal" tweets are still relevant to your niche. Pretty simple stuff.

Anything you have an account doing, it should be able to be physically done BY A HUMAN at the same intervals!! Once you start trying to over-do it, thats when you run into suspensions.

With that being said, Twitter is EXTREMELY powerful when it comes to marketing. Not only can it bring it traffic, it also holds a lot of weight with search engines. You just have to know what the limits are.

WhosThatGuru, you showed some before and after numbers in terms of followers. How long did it take you to build those followers up?

The problem I am finding with Twitter is that even if I get followers it does not really equate to traffic.
With 2000 fans on facebookI would get around 200 visits a day.
With 2000 followers on Twitter I get about 200 per week.

This is definitely true but its way easier to get Twitter followers than Facebook friends. I can get to 2000 Twitter followers in a month or two with using Tweetadder. Facebook will get more results if all else is equal but in the time I can get 2000 Twitter followers, i can probably only get 200 ro 300 Facebook friends.

        @ brocktoon

I have to change what I have previously said about twitter.
The problem was the content and amount of tweets.
I have since fixed them and I am seeing a major bump in traffic.
I now get 100 visits per day from twitter.
So even though Fb is sending more, with the automated program I am using
Twitter is becoming a very good source of traffic

Glad I was able to help! And dont worry, its only been a few days since you got the software.

You will start pulling in just as much traffic from Twitter (if not more) than Facebook does over time, as you can probably tell by now. LOL even with my tutorial it has a learning curve, just takes some time to get used to like everything else.

But if you like what you see now, you will love what you see as time goes by.

Oh and I edited my FB campaign, I dropped my CPM bid to 25 cents per 1k impressions, changed the targeted audience to about 14,950 and been letting it run.

So far I'm still not getting any conversions but I do think that what you said about people having to see it a few times before clicking it is true.

I'm not spending anywhere near as much money per day now, so I should be able to ride it out and see some results

Try using direct messages to interact with your followers. This has been one of the most successful ways to drive traffic from twitter, apart from their @mentions/@replies.

Direct messaging is private, so you can get them to give their email address if you have something they would be interested in, that you can't provide to them via Twitter. And just in case you dont, google does hehe

Hope this gives you some ideas. You can always contact me on Skype (well maybe not for a few hours, the wife is wanting to go see a movie) if you are interested in some specifics on my methods and techniques.

But yeah when I get back I always check my contact requests.

Just made some tweaks to the messages I post on twitter and I am seeing a nice bump in traffic.
I am currently getting 5 visits per tweet from 2100 followers.
I tweet around 10 times per day

I was using tweet adder until I had to format my computer and didn't bother to install it. I was running a campaign for a website I don't update much and have seen the traffic drop by 50%. Now I got better rank on google and traffic is back but I'll probably have to reinstall it soon and see if I can get more ppl on this site.

@ graymax, i'd say about 2 months. that is a clients account. i dont do a lot of following each day to avoid suspensions, and as u can see it works.

plus, because i was also posting tweets/sending @mentions and stuff, i had to limit the following and set delays so everything it was doing could be matched by a human at the same speeds.

it truly is the most sophisticated twitter software available.

@tri36, check my sig. he got it from me
