How Do "Reviews" Work?

Reading through the classifieds, warriors looking to hire you, I read a thread offering warriors to review a WSO he is going to launch.

How does this work?
Does the OP pay the people to review it?

What rights, if any, are given to the reviewers?
Can the reviewers use the content the OP gave them to review or is it protected?

I hope this makes sense.
Thanks.

I would imagine some people pay for reviews but that is not really appreciated around here.

The most common way is for a WSO creator to offer ' review copies' Sometimes as 50% off the normal price or free in return for a review in the thread.

If someone wants reviews they post it there.

You don't get paid. You get to review the materials.

I would suppose if it is a money making system, the person requesting the review would want you to actually try the technique. In that regard, you could use the materials.

If it is someone wanting some PLR reviewed, you would have to ask them what the usage rights are on it.

It's normally just a "review offered" in exchange for a free copy. Still incentivised, of course, though that doesn't necessarily invalidate them.

And if/when the vendor uses quotations from the resulting review, in his/her WSO thread, I believe s/he's obliged to specify which review comments were provided on that basis.

(Personally I usually take notice only of comments from people I myself know and trust and/or can independently verify, but not everyone's a skepchick like me, of course. )

I doubt that they are paid to review it, more likely the payment is the information, worth depending upon how good the info is. Another form of payment can be the review being placed on the product creator's website with a backlink.

It would be up to the OP if a reviewer was allowed to use the content. If it's PLR the reviewer might get the first chance with it and that would be another form of payment.

Personally I don't think that there should be any form of payment for reviews because it would make those reviews less credible.

There's a new rule now so anyone who wants to gather reviews (before the WSO launches) needs to post it in the Members Looking To Hire You section. So I don't think it's that warriors are looking to pay people cash to review their products, just that you're supposed to post your review requests in that section.

I think it is always better to get some reviews from the people on your list as a perk to them and if the content is good it helps you too.

Yeah the WSO OP shouldn't pay anyone to review it. That's kind of bad juju

There are tons of people who will review your WSO for free- the trick is having warriors with credibility do it for you.

Having 2 well known warrior reviews can be worth 10 reviews from warriors with like 3 posts to their names.
