I'm Getting a Free $100. What Should I Do With It?

I'm getting an extra $100 for free to babysit a friend's parrot for a week. His name's Elliott, he's a Quaker parrot who likes listening to music, watching TV and saying "Ya talkin to me?" I'm currently teaching him how to say "Nevermore." And I have an excuse to catch up on my TV/go through my moozak files.

Anywho!

I'm getting an extra $100. I could save it, or buy a bunch of crap, or go clothes-shopping, or work on finishing my tattoos. But then I'm thinking to myself...

I'm brainstorming IM-related stuff. And I want ideas.

So, Emily's getting a free $100. She wants to jumpstart something amazing. GIMME YOUR GREAT IDEAS!!

And go.

Do you have your own domain?

    Hosting?

I see you're a War Room member, otherwise I'd suggest that.

With $100 you could put together a small PPC campaign if you keep to low bid keywords

I would turn those $100 into a decent site and aim for passive income down the line. $100 should buy a decent amount of content and some backlinks too.

Before asking others, what is the best thing to do.

Ask yourself, what are you good at ?

The beach is always a good choice if that's close by. That's definitely amazing.

Or finish the tats, I have several myself. lol

As for the online aspect, my first purchase that made me realize the power of IM was Tweet Attacks. And I'm not just saying that because I promote it. You can search the web and you will see nothing but great things being said about it by anybody who has ever used and learned it.

Everything that was stated above is true and is money well spent, but if you are really serious about turning that $100 into real income you must build your list because recurring money comes from those who have bought from you in the past.

    Hi Emily

It's not quite a "free" hundred as you do have to keep your eye on Elliott! But all in all it's not a bad way to get some extra coin.

Of course answering your question is almost impossible without knowing what you are up to IM-wise these days, or what your home-office situation currently is. Do you have a current project (you mention an "involved" one in your signature) you are working on, is your moneysoapbox blog still active? Or is there a piece of office or computer equipment that would make your life a lot easier? Do you have a backup device for preserving all your IM work? 100 dollars will get you a 1 TB or more external drive that could be a lifesaver if you don't have a current backup scheme.

Two of my best "IM investments" this year included new computer glasses and a posterpedic office chair. These two items have alleviated both my back pain and constant headaches, and have probably made me more money in the long run than any piece of software or training series ever has - just by increasing my productivity. So your IM investment does not necessarily need to be software or a WSO or PPC ad expenses.

100 dollars would also allow you to run a WSO and bump it once, might be something to consider if you have one in mind.

Whatever you decide upon I hope it works out for you, and please keep us posted as to what you end up doing with the money.

Also let us know if you can get Elliot to say "nevermore" - I thought that only ravens said that? But perhaps Elliot is bilingual!

    Bill

I hope you're joking, because this is illegal and against Google's rules.

First, I would say, do u have your own product ? do you have your own website ?

if yes, probably advertising is a good idea.

if not, I would go spend the 100, on 20 gigs on fiverr, get products with high sales, and start selling them on fiverr and other gig websites

I found after all it is not a bad idea, probably more profitable than owning a website, if you bought the right product

    Hey Emily,

Since your so good with parrots, why not buy one for yourself?

Or you could build a website with backlinks for $100 ( most of the work would be outsourced). You'll earn the money back in no time and then make a profit

    Hey Emily,

First of all, you don't need an article writer, like it says in your sig file. Your personality shines thru in your writing.

A strong personality like yours can attract a lot of people. I'd look into making a site about tattoos. There are some very good products out there with master resale rights with very cool tattoo designs, to get started cheaply.

I'm not saying you should spend you $100 on that, but might be worth spending a few minutes researching.

There's an ebook in War Room related to Amazon affiliate program. Don't really remember what it's called. (Search).

You can really make $100 everyday using that method!

Since you are already good with parrots am sure some people out there will like to know how to teach a parrot, maybe you can use the $100 to create a product..do your market research first though ;-)

What type of cause are you passionate about? Focus on others and team up to sponsor or donate or do a joint venture (jv) in this area. Ebay has settings for this, and there are other fundraising sites and opportunities out there, too.

I help at a local prison and have been able to team up with a few projects there that have given a lot back from this end, and reaped checks, too.

Hook up long term to always be giving back and working JVs together. It's very rewarding.

I would buy hosting a domain. Firstly use Google's keyword tool and find a buying keyword to blog about. Use the key word first in the domain name. (any other letters or words after. note: don't use i or e, Google is done with these, it's part of their clean up and I learned this the hard way) This makes it much easier to rank it. You should then get a link wheel built to start gaining respect from Google. Just wait till Google indexes your site first, this is important, and then spin the articles that you have on your site for link wheels. Keyword density at 3% My sites gain Page Rank status and respect quickly this way.

    Here's an easy one sweetie:

    1. Look for parrot related sites online
    2. Check their traffic in quantcast
    3. Get all the parrot keywords from Google keyword tools
    4. Choose one keyword and buy an exact match domain
    5. Buy hosting
    6. Have 6 articles written about parrots that are targeted to parrot related keywords
    7. Install a wordpress blog using a Parrot theme if you can find one, else a bird theme will do.
    8. Upload articles to parrot blog
    9. Shoot the funny things you do with the parrot. How you're teaching it.
    10. Upload video to youtube and link video to your blog.
    11. Put adsense in your parrot blog.
    12. Put affiliate products in your parrot blog.
then Spin 6 parrot articles and blast to article sites and do promotions.

The promotion part can be extended but after step 12 you'll have a new money making parrot blog you made because you got $100 free for taking care of a parrot.

      Great idea Mary,

However after step 9 I stopped reading. I recommend at 10 instead of putting them on Youtube, you turn them into your own product on how to teach a parrot. Then instead of promoting affiliate products you can promote your own product.

Also I never recommend spinning articles are you will get garbage in return. There are plenty of starving writers looking to make a name for themselves that will do a much better job.

And Adsense is good if you're pushing others products. However on your site with your product I wouldn't use it. You don't want people clicking off your site.

    Domain
    Hosting
    Autoresponder
Write some content, or outsource it
Monotize it with adsense or affiliate products
Get some SEO work done on the site or do it yourself
Once its ranking and making money
    BUY ANOTHER ONE
    Rinse and repeat.

    Thats the key
Perhaps you could build a site on training parrots lol!

Hey i see one great site of that thing that you love most in your life.
on my situation i didint have $100 to start with but i hustled in fiverr and got some dollers for buying a domain and hosting and now its one month old and am getting great traffic.
I know by the end of two months when i will be able to apply for adcsense i will be earning great money from it.
My advice is..... start with one site, one hundred dollers is not much to start and run multiple sites.
    Jimmy.

$100 = Monthly hosting at $10 and 90 .coms registered on 1 and 1 since they have them for .99. Thats a lot of sites for $100. Just saying. Not saying it is a good idea.
