My Biggest Mistakes I Realized!

Hi my dear warriors,

Today I just wanted to share something that I realized and learned since being in the internet marketing niche for about a year now...

I would be very honest and would say that though I have made some money online till now, but that big success still eludes me!

As I take a step back and sit behind for a while to analyze what is that keeping me off from that big success, what I just see is just two big repeating fatal mistakes:

1. How much value have I contributed to the community....?!

Though I try to, but when I look back now, I feel that whatever I have given is quite negligible to some of my fellow folks who has delivered tones and tones of high quality value without the expectation of taking anything back.

I believe this is one of the major faults all the newcomers get into. We get into the mode of just taking and earning millions from day 1 without realizing and analyzing what do we have to offer to others because unless we have that, nobody is going to buy anything from us or even listen to us!

So that's the number 1 point I would like to get to the attention of all the newbies who are trying to get into this online marketing buzz is...

First think of what you can offer....Give as much as value as possible to the community without expecting anything in return. I know many of us think what can we give when we are just starting out, isn't it?
One cool trick is that whenever you learn something new from somewhere, just share it with everyone. Do not have the scarcity mindset. Believe me, I am not saying this just to sound good...I am honest sharing my experience here and this is what I am going to follow too. Give your best.....build that trust and reputation of being helpful. Be absolutely genuine!
Once you do that, you never will have to convince or sell anything to anyone....because everyone will just believe in you and your words.

Help others...you will help actually help yourself!

2. Buying new product each time it comes by.

Recently when I looked closely at my hard drive.....The only word that came out of me was...OMG! I was disappointingly surprised to discover that I had even forgotten about many of the courses or programs that I spent upto $97 or $197 or even $497 or more few months back.

Can you believe that?!....I spent my hard earned money on that and I just let it lay in there on my hard drive to collect nothing but dust....

I really get quite angry on myself looking at those. What I just did was stake up my credit card bills...nothing else! And that's what most of us do...just buy...buy and buy! We never even open it up...let alone finishing it and implementing it by taking action...
I also remember that for many of them, what I did was just go through them superficially and get myself satisfied with a kind of feeling of contentment that this is the one that is going to solve all my problems, but only to completely forget about it in few days and then buying the next big promise again and again and again!!!!

This is the most vicious and dangerous cycle any newcomer can get into and do get into!

So, enough is enough! That's what I am going to do right now....I strictly promise to myself to not buy anything else, until and unless I get that old stoke cleared up.... I will just forget about my credit card number! That way I wont be able to buy anything more...

I urge each and every newcomer with this two pieces of advise....do pay close attention to this and you will save yourself a lot of money and time. take just one task at a time and just finish it up. DO NOT hop around from one thing to another. Its not something I read somewhere but I learned it the pretty hard way:rolleyes:.

That's all for today. I hope it helps you and gives you some proper direction!

Thanks and Regards

Amitav

It still amazes me, to this day, that some would purchase a product and then never ever open it up. So often, I hear that people buy a product--oftentimes for $97+--yet they never take the time to read or consume.

This defies anything I know, I admit....when I buy things, typically, I have the intent to consume it almost immediately with purchase.

      Hi x3xsolxdierx3x,

That's quite impressive what you do... way to go my friend.

Hope everyone else(myself include) can do that too!
Actually Use what we spend money on...

      Thanks

Everyone makes mistakes that somehow impact their success or atleast their chances of succeeding.
The best part is that you realized your mistakes.
I made a similar mistake and didn't realise it until it had affected a lot of my work...
Learn from this experience & its good you have the guts to express your mistake in such a self-effacing way.
    Way to go, Bro !

I like this thread. You can spend 100's of dollars on ebooks and other various promotions and yet they are just sat there waiting to be read and you do not make time to read them. I think it is the thought of sitting down and the computer and reading 200 and so pages that puts people off.

You got a serious issue with compulsive hoarding. You have to slowdown a while, get a pen and paper then write your strategy - be it in life or business venture. Put that on a wall where you can always see them and keep you reminded to stay focus. Only buy stuff when you think you've run out of ideas and the suggestions from your current books have all been tested.

I remember seeing a video that has Frank Kern in and John Reese and it started with some stats.

Apparently on a $497 product (it was something like that anyway) out of all the people that purchased something like a whopping 70% did not take action on the material in the first 90 days!

    $497 and they did nothing!

Scary when you think about it...

However, Amitav you should feel good because I think you have learnt one of the most valuable lessons.

Focus on giving value and you will get pretty much what ever you want...

I think it's easy to fall into this trap. Sometimes, it's because it seems quicker to find something else, rather than buckle down and apply the information you already have. The 'shiny object' phenomenon is very real here.

Focus and determination towards your long-term goals are what usually counts most in business. It's very rare in business for an overnight success to just happen, it takes years of learning the right skills and gaining the experience needed.

As ShawnSells mentioned, don't fall prey to the "shiny object" trap that so many in this industry seem to. Find something that works for you, and stick with it. It's the little things that bring you success.

A relative of mine once bought a treadmill in hopes of giving her weight loss attempt a boost. Never did use it, though. Ended up being nothing more than a huge, space-hogging, dust-collecting paper weight. We all know stories like this one. The world is full of people who don't follow anything through, as if getting the product by itself somehow magically takes us to the desired end result.

Gotta do like Amitav has vowed... not buying anything not absolutely necessary to get where you need to go.
