Does this idea have online Business potential?

INTERNET MARKETING

Hello, I have had an idea.

This idea is this, I will take people's blackberry's and turn them into cooler colours such as chrome gold, metallic red, metallic blue & more! Obviously there is going to be alot to it and espeically getting the website design and keywords correct.

But I think it could be quite a good earner!

I would charge £10-17 to do this service.

Do you think there is potential here?

This certainly isn't a NEW idea, there are already decorative skins you can buy with phones, and spraypainted xbox controllers etc.

However, I do think it is possible to make money from this, and I doubt this service is common in the blackberry world. I am not quite sure about the market for this (especially after reading in the newspaper that the popularity of blackberries is going downhill - fast.)

That being said, I think it could work.

No offense but you might want to brush up on your market research/googling skills. I found this major competitor in less than 1 minute of google searching

They do not offer the blackberry curve 8520 which Is the one I am focusing on for now.

Here is some food for thought.

1) With the rate at which new models of blackberries come out why would you want to focus on just one sku? That is an extremely small micro niche.

2) When analyzing competitors you shouldn't only be looking at people who will directly compete against you, you should also be looking at those with minimal barrier to entry as well. In your case, it would probably be fairly easy for colorware to enter the blackberry curve 8520 market if those so desired.

3) You might want to consider why one of the top providers of this service has decided not to pursue this specific product. It may be because they don't see this as a product that would be in demand.
