What kinds of affiliate products are becoming over saturated?

(or already are)

Here are some that come to mind:
  • Making money online / affiliate marketing
  • Background checks
  • Web hosting / domains
  • Movie and MP3 downloads

I have probably contributed to the over saturation of background checks online myself, but I do have a page which offers information about them. (which I didn't copy and paste or just take notes from one source)

Its easy to understand why software / internet services have higher commission rates than physical products.

Do you think affiliate marketing contributes to too much spam?
Should affiliate networks crack down on people who spam affiliate links more often?
(clearly , it makes the affiliate aggregator look bad as well as the creator of the product)

I see affiliate spam on forums all the time (not so much this one, relatively speaking but then again it depends on how you define spam)

Making money online and web hosting are niches, not products. MP3's are music downloads, which are part of the music industry as well -- a niche, not a product. The same could probably be said for those background check things, but I don't know anything about that.

All of the big niches are going to have competition. That's just a fact. You are looking at competition as a bad thing. It's not, It just means there are lots of products to promote. It's just about getting your foot in the door. It's also crucial that you lay the proper foundation.
