I have a website where I sell my own ebook. I am ranked in the top 6 in google for 5 out of the 6 keyword phrases I was trying to rank for. I now get roughly 100 views a day at my website which I think is great. The problem is I don't get many sales at all; maybe once a week I get a sale.

I'd like to ask everyone what they think the best ways to monetize the website would be. Thank you.

Are you offering visitors something for free in exchange for opting in to your mailing list? If not I recommend setting this up that way you can build a relationship with these people and pitch your sale again later.

Also think about what these people are looking for. You didn't mention what keywords you're ranking for. But if it's 'How to...' then give them some information and say to learn more download....for only $____. If the keywords are more basic you'll have to get creative. Think of how your ebook can apply to them.

Another good idea is to give some information from the e-book away on the site. The info has to be really good.

I've learned that when I give away good information, the searcher thinks, "If he/she's offering this free, what's hiding in the e-book!"

Make sure that the content on your site is relevant to the search terms and to what you're selling.

Also, look up information on 'conversion'.

As Dan said, build a list (Aweber are good). Build up good will by giving them cool stuff, and links to things that help them - then sell them your product(s) to help them even more.

But a list also gives you more than that. You can interact with them, open a dialogue, find out what their problems are, what they need, what they want. Getting to know your list/market will help you produce things they really want.
