You can certainly have fun and appear to be doing something constructive with traffic exchanges but in my experience you will waste a lot of time that can be put to better use in building your online business.

That is just my take on traffic exchanges and I am fully aware that some people think they are great, but, I have wasted a lot of time and money on them with practically zero results.

I won't suggest any traffic exchange traffic unless your into IM niche. You need to understand that the guyz sitting there visiting your site have just ONE purpose. Hope you get what I mean...

Traffic exchanges are ok. I wouldn't base my business on it though.

Do I have my site on one, yea because at times they can bring leads. The best one is most likely Trafficswarm.

But remember, DON'T base your business on it. There's better ways to market.

If you're selling a IM product you may find success but remember, everyone there is promoting their own products and isn't really interested in what you have to offer.

If it's mlm or some over type of recruiting thingy, you may be able to find a few converts from people looking for the next program.

If you're not willing to pay for traffic at those traffic exchange sites, you could be spending hours clicking away for naught.

Traffic exchanges basically allow others to view your offer if you view other members' offers.

If your product has nothing to do with making money online - it will definitely not work.

I find it's simply 10X easier for me to make great money promoting products that have nothing to do with making money...

... but if you're going to participate in a forum like this one you ought to have something that helps people make money online - cause that's what this forum is all about.

I think traffic exchanges are a BIG waste of time.Every member of a TE is there to promote their own site, no one comes to a traffic exchange to buy anything.

traffic exchange - mass of useless visits to ur site
anyway sometimes i surf for like 20-30 credits ( 10 mins max ) at the the best traffic exchange ever - easyhits4u
i has 500+ surfing users all the time
you get 1:1 traffic exchange not like the most sites where is 1:2 or even 1:3

I've used Link Referral. It's much different than a standard traffic exchange. Normally traffic exchanges you have a surf bar and you just click through, randomly getting sent to other people's sites for credits.

With LR, you search through categories and click on the sites you want to view. You then can rate them, review them and add them to your favorites. The way to get a lot of hits from LR is to follow their 30/5/1/1. Which means visit 30 sites, review 5 (writing a good review is important b/c you are graded), making 1 forum post, and picking one favorite. If you do all these things your ranking in your category goes up and more people will set eyes on your link and description.

It's not as time consuming as a regular TE but it's still not a lot of quality hits. Yes, people have to spend more time looking at the sites to rate and review, but they are in it just the same as you are, to get people to see their site with as little work as possible.

I like it a lot better than a regular TE because it's much more personal, you can message people and comment back and forth on each others sites.

It's not a great way to get quality traffic, but if you have 15-20 minutes everyday to complete the requirements it'll get you some hits.

OK, I can't give you an unbiased opinion about traffic exchanges because I'm the owner of Traffic Witch. But let me tell you that about 20% of the subscribers on my list came from using traffic exchanges (before I started Traffic Witch).

The problem why many people don't get results from traffic exchanges is because they don't really understand them and they don't understand how to market to traffic exchange users. It's actually the problem with all marketing methods, no matter if it's ppc, safelists, traffic exchanges, social marketing, blogging... I mean, try Social Marketing and I can guarantee you that you will not get results from it unless you know how to market to these people.

I'd had to write a complete ebook to explain this whole problem and give you a solution... so just let me ask you a couple of questions and maybe you'll understand the principle yourself.

Question: You use Facebook and promote a free report about "weight loss" to build your niche list. How targeted is your report to the average Facebook user?

Question 2: You use Facebook and promote a free report about "how to get traffic from Facebook"... Now, how targeted is that to the average Facebook user?

Question: You use Traffic Exchanges and promote a free report about "dog training" to build your niche list. How target is that report to the average Traffic Exchange user?

Question 2: You use Traffic Exchanges and promote a free report about "how to get more free traffic" to build your list... Now, how targeted is that to the average TE user?

You can apply the same strategy to about any type of marketing. You just need to use the obvious resource for your free report or fit your marketing message to go hand in hand with the source of advertising.

By the way... always build your list, no matter what kind of advertising source you use. Especially in Traffic Exchanges you should use a very short Squeeze Page... so short that they can see your autoresponder signup form without scrolling!
