Video hosting help needed

Hi all.

I am looking for a place to host video where I can embed them on my vbulletin forum, but not have a clickthrough where users can get the direct link.

A setting where you would have to manually add email addresses or approved users to see videos is impossible, way too much work.

Basically the forum has protected areas based on the amount the person is paying per month, so I'd like to embed vids in there, but not provide any other way to see it.

Youtube "unlisted" videos still allow a clickthrough direct to the vid where you can have and share the link.

I am willing to pay for this ability but am not finding it thus far. There are some services that are pay per mb/streaming video but that is a bit intense and does not necessarily integrate any convenient way with vbulletin.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I think your best bet is to use Amazon S3 storage and you can set permissions on the files you upload.

Or another service that you may want to have a look at is Vimeo, Video Sharing For You - if you take the paid service I think you will be able to do what you need but just check what niche you are in first before you sign up for that one.

    Hope this helps?

There are many video hosting and publishing platforms. My company iPlayerHD.com, competes very well with companies like Wistia, Vzaar and Brightcove.

    Check them all out !

You could host the videos on your own server in mp4 format and use JWPlayer to show them in posts. You would need to have a hosting account with enough bandwidth, obviously, but as everything would be self-contained on your site, and there would be no link per se, it would lessen the chance of the videos being seen by people who are not authorized to see them.

I don't know enough about vbulletin to advise you as to how you would go about embedding the JWPlayer code, but I'm sure it would be possible.
