Wow, I thought I had a nice office chair. I don't get out of this chair as it is. I would never get out of that thing.
  • LOL .. go for it!
  • LOL $40k and they can't even make it give you a back massage?

    • Wow! Isn't that something else.

Now, if you can only program it to do some housework too, then I'd pay the 40k. LOL
    • I swear...

Technology is going to take over all civilization soon...

One day the only two existing species will be machines and cyborg's.

That thing reminds me of a contraption that I saw in Wall-E

Talk about convenience and comfort on steroids...

That thing would have me hemmed up in the house losing
skin color (due to lack of sun) more than my computer...

But, I have to admit, it's pretty damn cool.

  • Look like something from StarWars movies
  • Looks a bit claustrophobic to me.

Another issue I would have would be the ambient acoustics; curved surfaces overhead distort your directional perception of sound, sometimes quite significantly.
  • First I need to buy a new house when I'm going to buy a chair like that
  • Looks like a scorpion stinging something to me...lol

    • My wife has been suffering from carpel tunnel recently, I wonder if the ergonomical design will help. I think I'll pick one up, after all it's only $40k.

If she doesn't like it I'll drive it down the the Goodwill drop off trailer down the street. I'm sure someone would be able to use it.

    • That's a little scary actually...Do the math:

A Top-Level Graphics designer or programmer is good for 120-150K nowdays at one of the big agencies.

The computer and monitor system that's in that thing is worth 6-7K in the mac version alone.

A high-end cubicle setup with shelves, lighting, chair, etc. is about the same installed.

Now you're at 12K- and we haven't even started talking about productivity...

If your 120K designer or programmer wastes 25% of their time out of the cube at the coffee machine or water cooler, that's 30,000.

What if the "boss" made these mandatory? People would probably say "Wow- how COOL", and turn into some kind of "Matrix" folk...

This thing could pay for itself in under a year in that scenario, and I'm sure the usable life is 5 or better- probably more like ten.

You'd have to pony up for software upgrades, etc., but you'd have to do that anyways.

Personally, pretty as it is I wouldn't want to be trapped in it for 10 hours a day by some jag-off bean counting boss...That's what's scary.

But yeah, I'd love one for MY house
